First it was Connecticut Attorney General William Tong who complained about it.

Now Governor Ned Lamont bent out of shape over the U.S. Department of Homeland Security's decision to classify Connecticut as a sanctuary state.

“We want local law enforcement focused on maintaining the safety of our neighborhoods and helping to get those who commit serious crimes off our streets," said Lamont, hinting at the democrat belief that if illegals do not fear getting arrested for breaking federal immigration law, that they will be able to foster trust between immigrant communities and law enforcement.

"Connecticut’s Trust Act, which was originally bipartisan, is consistent with federal constitutional standards and reflects sound public safety priorities," argued Lamont before started gaslighting. "I am focused on making sure people feel safe in our schools, churches, and elsewhere. Nothing about this makes Connecticut a 'sanctuary' in any legal or practical sense – it makes our state one that upholds the Constitution, respects the rule of law, and prioritizes the safety and well-being of our communities.”

It sure sounds like what he said is that he is focused on making sure that illegals feel safe in schools, churches and elsewhere in Connecticut at the expense of the safety and well-being of legal residents, doesn't it?
