RTC Chairman Christine Traficante noted that the slate brings together experienced public servants, individuals stepping into new roles, and first-time candidates, offering a valuable mix of perspectives and a shared commitment to Simsbury’s future. She emphasized that the Republican focus is not on national politics or weekend protests, but on local issues that truly matter to Simsbury families and businesses—issues that directly impact residents’ everyday lives.

Upon accepting her nomination Heather Goetz, incumbent two-term Selectman, and Candidate for First Selectman, stated: “I am honored to accept the nomination for First Selectman. Simsbury is a special town, and I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to its growth and prosperity. We are at a crucial juncture where we must work together to shape a vision for Simsbury’s future. Too often, decisions are made in isolation without considering their broader impact. Whether it’s taxes, development, or maintaining our town’s character, every choice must align with a long-term, cohesive plan that balances progress with preservation. Our town deserves a clear, unified strategy that focuses on local needs and priorities while respecting our history and protecting our future. Together, we can build a Simsbury that meets today’s needs while leaving a thriving legacy for generations to come.”

As the town heads into the fall election, the Simsbury Republican Party looks forward to a spirited, issues-focused campaign centered on local concerns, ensuring every resident and business owner has the opportunity to have their voice heard in shaping the future of Simsbury.
