The Connecticut chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America (CT DSA) has condemned the US House of Representatives for voting in favor of a resolution (H. Con. Res. 58) to condemn socialism in all forms and oppose its implementation in the United States.
They think the vote is a distraction from the "from the very real horrors of capitalism."
The CT DSA is especially angry with Connecticut Congressman Jim Himes, who voted for the resolution.
"Rep. Himes is not fighting for working people, but instead, fighting for deregulations that hand corporations even more power to exploit us," said the CT DSA. "By conflating Socialism with Donald Trump's accelerating fascism and dissolution of democracy, Rep. Himes is helping Trump achieve his goal."
The CT DSA said that Himes "would rather side with fascism" in support of "the MAGA agenda" than side with the working class and the "struggle for liberation under capitalism."
They blame Himes for "helping Trump achieve his goal" by fighting for the billionaire class, and denounce the "red-baiting propaganda" in the resolution.
Meanwhile, Himes claimed we're currently living under the most socialist administration in two and a half centuries in a clip he recently shared on X.
"What's the definition of socialism again?" asked Himes. "Again, if you crack a book, you'll see that it is state control over the means of production."
"This President has taken a 10% stake in Intel, a 15% stake in M.P. Materials, a 10% stake in Lithium America, a 10% stake in Trilogy Metals, and we have a golden share in U.S. Steel. State control of the means of production," said Himes. "So, if the definition of socialism is political control over the means of production, welcome to the great socialist state of the United States of America."
Wonder if Himes will take any more heat over his vote against socialism at his upcoming town hall with Indivisible?
Of course, since it's a Zoom Town Hall, he could always just decide against taking questions... but it sure is entertaining for MAGA to sit back and watch the left eat its own.

Himes has hogged OUR seat for the past 17 years. Hope the Leftists will primary him and replace him with one of their loons as nominee. Cynics will say the Loon will win anyway. Well, that's possible, but I'd rather have an election for an open seat - we'd clearly have a better chance to beat Himes' zombie voting machine. Regardless of outcome - he richly deserves to be bounced out of electoral life in CT.... and out of our lives.
