President Donald Trump said it was a "very sad thing" that Rob and Michele Reiner had passed away, brutally murdered allegedly at the hands of their own son Nick, who's since been charged with two counts of first degree murder.

However, Trump's comment about Reiner's "affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME..." almost immediately generated a firestorm of hate, especially from the left but also from the right.

Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy said of Trump, "he's just lost it ... so sick."

Congressman Jim Himes actually retweeted Marjorie Taylor Greene's comments, saying "This is a family tragedy, not about politics or political enemies."

It's worth remembering that Reiner's social media features plenty of TDS-addled posts.

So many, that you have wonder whether it was part of a coordinated messaging campaign.

Of course, it turns out the Reiners founded the Committee to Investigate Russia ("CIR") in 2017 with the help of some big hitters in Hollywood, like Morgan Freeman.

Interestingly, at the time when CIR posted its introductory video to YouTube, there was still "zero evidence of Trump-Russia collusion or conspiracy, despite thousands of federal and congressional investigators, journalists, activist groups, and internet sleuths frantically searching for over a year."

CIR didn't last long, though, officially "completing its tenure" on March 31, 2019, right after the Mueller Report on the Russia Collusion Hoax was issued.

But CIR's "InvestigateRussia.org" website is still operational in case you want to brush up on the official fake news narrative about "Russia’s election interference" and the smears aimed at President Trump and 46 associates with insinuations of collusion with Russia.

CIR described itself as "a nonprofit, non-partisan resource provided to help Americans recognize and understand the gravity of Russia’s continuing attacks on our democracy."

The site aggregated information to "provide context and allow users to see the full picture of what Russia has done and will continue to do unless we start paying closer attention."

CIR's narrative of "alleged Russia collusion in the 2016 U.S. Presidential campaign" was mostly aimed at the general public rather than politicians, and helped make the term “Russian collusion” become a fixture in entertainment news and across social media.

The Advisory Board featured influential media personalities and Barack Obama associates who were generally hostile to President Donald Trump, including:

• Max Boot - Military historian, senior fellow at Council on Foreign Relations, and long-time WaPo columnist / Never-Trumper who "would take Obama back in a nanosecond"; he also fueled Russigate with his Jan 2019 article: “Here Are 18 Reasons Why Trump Could Be a Russian Asset”;
• James Clapper - Former Director of National Intelligence under Obama and a key Russiagate figure;
• Evelyn Farkas, Ph.D. - Former Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Russia/Ukraine/Eurasia under Obama;
• General Michael Hayden - Former Director of the Central Intelligence Agency and the National Security Agency under Clinton and Bush;
• Jeh Johnson - Former U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security under Barack Obama;
• Michael Morell - Former Acting Director of the CIA under Barack Obama, and "the only person who was both with President Bush on September 11th, when al-Qaida burst into the American consciousness, and with President Obama on May 1st, when Bin Laden was brought to justice”; he also accused Trump allies of “working on behalf of the Russians" weeks before the election;
• Norman Ornstein - American Enterprise Institute Resident Scholar; he was also a contributing editor to National Journal, The Atlantic, and was a BBC News election analyst; his work is widely promoted in the mainstream media;
• Leon Panetta - Former Secretary of Defense and Former Director of the CIA under Obama, and Former White House Chief of Staff under Clinton;
• Rob Reiner - Director, actor, and anti-Trump activist;
• Charles Sykes - Founder and editor-at-large of The Bulwark, host of The Bulwark Podcast, and an NBC/ MSNBC contributor; was president of Defending Democracy Together Institute and sat on board of Democracy Fund; and
• Clint Watts - Foreign Policy Research Institute Fellow and former FBI Agent who wrote that Republicans who support an “America First” agenda are behaving as Russian pawns.

This means the Reiners, and their Advisory Board friends and Hollywood helpers, were all key players in the Russia Collusion Hoax.

Coincidentally, the Reiners were meant to have dinner with the Obamas on the night they were killed.
