Today, Dan Miressi, a Fairfield County native and youth hockey coach, announced his candidacy for the United States House of Representatives in Connecticut’s 4th Congressional District.

He is running to bring accountable leadership to Washington, focused on fiscal responsibility, energy affordability, secure and lawful immigration policy, and long-term economic competitiveness.

“Families across Fairfield County are feeling the pressure of rising costs, energy inefficiencies, economic uncertainty, and a federal government that has grown disconnected from the realities of everyday life,” said Miressi. “It’s time for serious, responsible leadership that puts our district first and restores fiscal discipline, economic opportunity, and national security.”

Dan Miressi, a lifelong resident of CT-04, brings 8 years of experience coaching youth sports, where he has focused on developing hockey players from ages 9 through 18, winning several tournaments within New England and a finalist appearance at States. Through that experience, Dan has worked directly with families of all economic backgrounds, small businesses, and community organizations throughout the district.

The campaign will center on three core themes:

  • Family – Protect children from overreach and indoctrination. Support parents’ rights, safe schools, and policies that make it affordable to raise kids in Connecticut. Continue to fight against sanctuary policies that strain resources, benefit the consolidation of Democrat politicians power, and undermine safety for working families.
  • Community – Fight for fair elections, secure borders, and law enforcement that’s empowered not handcuffed. Preserve the character of our neighborhoods and the traditions that make Connecticut home.
  • Economy – Disrupt national green energy policies. Champion energy independence through LNG, small nuclear, and practical solutions — not virtue-signaling windmills. Deliver real economic opportunity so young people can afford to own homes, start businesses, and build futures in the state they grew up in.

“For too long, Washington has operated on autopilot with a representative that puts his own interests, and party politics, above the district,” Miressi said. “Our district deserves someone who listens, and who is willing to challenge both parties when policies fail the people of CT-04.”

Dan Miressi is seeking to challenge incumbent Jim Himes, who has represented the district since 2009. “Our campaign is about the future. I want this campaign to be lean, dynamic and for the constituents to be my advisors — not special interest groups,” Miressi added. “Connecticut families are being priced out, our towns are fraying, and our economy is being strangled by stagnant policies. I’m running to put those three things first again — because everything else flows from strong families, thriving communities, and real spending power that let people stay and build here. It’s not about the left. It’s not about the right. It’s about moving forward. So, let’s move CT 4-ward together.”

After 17 years of Himes' performative voting, let's have some true REPRESENTATION of the citizens of CT-4. Go get 'em, Dan!

Just a suggestion to all of our conservative candidates. Be aggressive. Be loud. Go hard after your progressive opponents and call out their policies. Hit a nerve with constituents. We would appreciate the effort!
