Thousands of citizens in Connecticut descended on the Capitol in Hartford for a barrage of hearings attacking core freedoms the people of Connecticut enjoy and utilize. From education, public health, and gun rights. It was a blitzkrieg of bills thrown at the public as fast and furiously as rolling hurricanes.

Two controversial bills being heard were allowed 24 hours to testify, even though it could take days for everyone to be heard. The most glaring switch up of rules and procedures came from the public health committee, who ended testimonies just after midnight with thousands submitting testimony and still wanting to speak. I was one of them.

I watched hours of testimony from citizens who oppose this bill. 95% of the testimonies I heard were against the bill. But the most shocking testimony came in the middle of the night from Attorney Lindy Urso, who has been embroiled in a legal battle with the State of Connecticut since 2022! Attorney Urso believes that he has a powerful case and could win back the religious exemption for school children in Connecticut.

SB 450 is last minute bill from Connecticut Attorney General, William Tong, a self professed lover of vaccines. SB 450 removes religious protections for vaccines only, this move could make Attorney Urso’s case a moot point! Never before has an Attorney General in an active lawsuit tired to rewirite the law to win his case!
