State Rep. Cara Pavalock-D'Amato caused a firestorm in February when she wore an "ICE IN" jacket on the house floor.

Democrats complained that Pavalock-D'Amato's clothing choice was in violation of decorum rules that restrict political messages in the chamber.

Yet now one of the Democrats' own, State Rep. Maryam Khan, apparently has replaced the American flag in front of her nameplate with a Pakistani flag.

The irony of flying a flag inside the House chamber in support of another country was not lost on Pavalock.

"So I can't wear an "ICE IN" jacket but this Democrat State Rep. can take down the American flag and put up the Pakistan flag?" wrote Pavalock.

Yes, Khan did apparently take down the American flag that was previously spotted in front of her name place in February 2026.

Khan was first elected during a 2022 special election to represent the 5th District, serving Hartford and Windsor.

She is the first Muslim member of the Connecticut House, and serves as House Chair of the Select Committee on Special Education and as a member of the Appropriations, Education, and Judiciary Committees.

Khan is currently advocating for H.B. 5328 to address alleged "Islamophobia in schools"; the bill has since passed out of committee.

Much like students were forced into DEI classes to address alleged "systemic racism" after George Floyd, if H.B. 5328 passes, students could be forced to learn about "anti-Muslim racism and Islamophobia."

The purpose of the bill is so that "students can feel proud of their religious beliefs in CT schools" -- of course those fighting the loss of the religious exemption will be frustrated to hear that.

By the way, the comments under Pavalock-D'Amato's posts showed how frustrated people are with the democrats' hypocrisy and with those who do not seem to be on the side of the United States.
