The Litchfield County Chapter of the Connecticut Republican Assembly (LCRA) convened tonight and delivered a resounding verdict: Connecticut conservatives stand firmly behind President Donald Trump.

The chapter conducted a straw poll that strongly affirmed its support for the president—a signal, organizers say, that grassroots Republicans across the Nutmeg State remain unified despite national controversies and Democratic efforts to fracture the coalition that carried Trump to victory in 2024.

“Connecticut Republicans are more determined than ever to reverse nearly two decades of one-party Democrat rule in this state,” said chapter president The Rev. Jake Dell, pastor of the First Congregational Church of Woodbury, CT. “This straw poll is proof that Connecticut’s Republicans stand behind their president, despite efforts to split the coalition that elected him in 2024.”

The vote comes at a moment of heightened political tension nationally, with controversies surrounding Iran and other flashpoint issues dominating the news cycle. Rather than wavering, Litchfield County Republicans used tonight’s meeting to double down—sending a message to Hartford and Washington alike that the conservative base in Connecticut is not splintering.

The LCRA has long positioned itself as the vanguard of principled conservatism in a state that has been reliably blue for nearly two decades. Tonight’s meeting underscored that mission, with attendees expressing determination to convert grassroots energy into electoral results up and down the ballot.

“A reckoning is coming this fall for the failed states of New England,” Dell said, “and Connecticut’s Republicans are leading the charge.”

Dell will attend the state GOP convention at Mohegan Sun next month, where party leadership will gather to chart the course for Connecticut Republicans ahead of the fall elections.

About the Litchfield County Connecticut Republican Assembly (LCRA)

The LCRA is the officially chartered Litchfield County Connecticut chapter of the National Federation of Republican Assemblies—known nationally as “The Republican Wing of the Republican Party.” Its mission is to reclaim the Connecticut Republican Party for constitutional conservatives, reform it back to its pro-Constitution roots, and restore faith among rank-and-file Republicans who have felt unrepresented by the state party establishment. The Litchfield County Chapter serves as the local affiliate for northwestern Connecticut, organizing conservatives committed to reversing one-party rule in the state.

Just how informed are CT Republicans? (I mean, beyond the standard platitudes that they espouse)
What does reclaiming, reforming and restoring... actually look like?
Do Republicans not realize that their ideas merely rearrange the deck furniture – just with some accountability?
Why then is it common party belief of 'Republicans' that capturing seats is the solution?
Why isn't their focus exclusively on 'winning minds'?

    to be continued

Are CT Republicans committed to reducing, even abolishing the nanny State?
    Are they committed to:

stopping the explosive growth of the surveillance State?
restoring blanket adherence to the 2nd Amendment?
rescinding the income tax or property tax?
enforcing paper ballots, same day voting and citizen only voting?
outlawing unions within all government entities?
abandoning all ‘climate change’ hoax initiative, all vaccination mandates, all ‘protected-class’ delineation?

Is President Trump so committed? What exactly does he bring to the game? That he’s an outsider, a non-politician?
Is no one concerned that his “non-politician” campaign promises have floundered?
Drain the swamp? No new wars? Mass deportations? Doge cuts? And do you even remember Operation Warp Speed?
Maybe you hold your nose and close your eyes and trust “the plan”.
Military occupation, C.O.G., central casting… Q much? Anybody?

    So, let's connect some dots.

“… a signal, organizers say, that grassroots Republicans across the Nutmeg State remain unified despite national controversies and Democratic efforts to fracture the coalition that carried Trump to victory in 2024.“

    Fractured. Fractured indeed.
And unbeknownst to all, the reason is not controversial, nor complicated, nor Democrats, but lays a mere three paragraphs later:
“The LCRA has long positioned itself as the vanguard of principled conservatism…“

    Michael Satagaj

“Vanguard of principled conservatism“. And there it is.

Trump is NOT a conservative and never was. And I even hesitate to call him a Christian. Worse yet though, is the arrogance in that sentiment… the vanguard of principled conservatism.

The prototypical, Boomer Republican professes a claim to timeless virtues, Christian principles and American values - well enough.
But in fact, it is more than a claim of belonging. It is an assertion of piety, of propriety, of gatekeeping.

    Michael Satagaj

And how does that manifest in the culture and in cultures’ mores?
    In affecting a man’s attitude?
In affecting a culture’s attitude, its systems, it’s paradigm?

How does it manifest In the promotion and protection of liberty?
Or in the personal responsibility of your neighbor?

Respectfully, it doesn’t. And you think driving the bus is the answer.

You want to influence a return to (fill in the blank)?

    Teach a man.

This is not your Father’s Oldsmobile anymore.
