Robert Finley Hyde, a third-party candidate for the U.S. Senate, announced that he has officially gathered over 10,600 signatures, surpassing the state requirement to qualify for the 2024 general election ballot. Hyde says his campaign continues to build momentum as he aims to challenge incumbent Senator Chris Murphy, Republican candidate Matt Corey and Green Party candidate Justin Paglino in a race that highlights economic reform, energy independence, and tax policy overhaul.

Hyde’s campaign originally set a goal of collecting 7,500 signatures to meet Connecticut’s stringent ballot access requirements. Hyde exceeded this threshold with 12,600 verified signatures from across the state. His team submitted the required signatures ahead of the deadline to ensure his place on the ballot for the November election.

"I am deeply humbled and energized by the outpouring of support from voters across Connecticut," Hyde said. "The people are hungry for real change and for leaders who will fight for economic revitalization, energy independence, and a simplified tax system. Together, we are making our voices heard, and I am excited to continue this journey toward Election Day."

Now that the signature milestone has been achieved, Hyde’s campaign will shift its focus to expanding outreach efforts across Connecticut. Upcoming town hall events will offer voters the opportunity to hear directly from Hyde about his plans to address the state’s economic challenges and to take on Eversource with the creation of a municipal utility.

Hyde’s campaign is centered on the following key areas:

    • Economic Revitalization: Focused on reducing taxes, cutting red tape, and promoting job growth, Hyde aims to make Connecticut a hub for innovation.
    • Energy Independence: Hyde plans to replace Eversource with a municipally owned utility to provide more affordable, reliable energy to residents.
    • Tax Reform: Simplifying the tax code to benefit working families and small businesses is a priority for Hyde’s candidacy.

With ballot access secured, the Hyde for Senate campaign is ramping up efforts to bring these issues to the forefront of Connecticut’s political conversation.

Hyde will continue meeting with voters across the state in a series of town halls and public forums. The full schedule will be posted on the campaign website in the coming days.
