A middle school in Yorktown Heights, NY, is under fire after exposing students to personality tests and inappropriate sexual content through assignments.

For years, it seems the seventh-grade science teacher at Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School, Steve Trinkle, has been allegedly administering a personality test to 11- and 12-year-old students.

The test ultimately reveals the students' ‘romantic’ tendencies, among other traditional personality traits, after answering a series of questions.

Other online class assignments included links to The Best Sex Dolls, Sex Toys, Penis Pumps, and so forth, at the bottom of the assignment page.

A Lakeland Copper Beech mother covertly recorded a meeting on June 5, 2023, with the school’s principal, Frank Ruolo, and Trinkle, after discovering her son’s 7th-grade class had been given multiple inappropriate assignments during the school year.

She raised three concerning assignments, all from the same teacher:

    1. Personality / Psychological Tests for Kids

The teacher assigned students to complete a personality test, essentially a psychological exam, at the beginning of the 2022-2023 school year. The personality test site explicitly states ‘children under 13 aren’t allowed to use' the website and explains why children should not be given their personality tests.

Based on answers to 60 questions, each child was categorized as 1 of 16 personality types, generating a profile of each child’s traits and behaviors—including strengths, weaknesses, and shockingly, romantic or love/sexual tendencies.

Most of the students in the class were between 11 and 12 years old at the time.

The principal said the district blocked the personality test website from its servers the same day that the mother first complained about it in September 2022, making it inaccessible for any and all students in the district, and assured her this wouldn't happen again.

The principal also confided in the mother that this specific teacher had apparently been assigning the personality test to his classes in “years past” so potentially hundreds of students could have been psychologically profiled by this teacher.

Trinkle allegedly didn’t notice the ‘Romantic Relationships’ tab that revealed sexual tendencies being on the website in previous years, but according to the fact check in the undercover video, that claim appears to be false.

    2. How the Muscular System Works

The next assignment discussed involves a video describing how the muscular system works. The video, which is intended for ages 18 and above, appears to come from a YouTube channel with various educational resources.

The video assigned by the teacher equates the way the muscular system works to “middle schoolers at a formal dance,” who desperately want to do some “heavy petting” and “groping” of each other, and it talks about “pent-up frustration” that explodes at “go time.”

What's the conclusion here, the mother wondered?

That the muscular system is just for sex?

    3. Studying Body Systems

The last assignment the mother reveals to the principal directly on her son’s school-issued Chromebook.

She brought up the website for a study resource assigned by Trinkle for ‘Body Systems.’

The website's Privacy Policy states that it is for the use of those 18 years and older and warns, "If you are a child, please exit this site immediately."

This site publishes articles and reviews of things such as the Best Sex Dolls, the Best Sex Toys, the Best Penis Pumps, Dietary Supplements, and more.

    So Now What?

The school district blocked all of the websites highlighted by the mother.

But it refused to proactively notify the parents of the other students that were impacted by the personality tests and the sexually explicit content assigned by the teacher, who is still employed in the district.

Why would the school decline to proactively notify parents about something like this?

If you were a parent in Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School, wouldn't you want to know if your child had been exposed to this content?

Doesn't this make you want to learn more about what's on your child's Chromebook? And included in their assignments?

Surely this is not a Lakeland Copper Beech-only problem, is it? How many students in the U.S. have a school-issued device?
