Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy just dropped quite an Instagram video about his "tough f*cking day" after Chuck Schumer joined Republicans to pass the funding bill yesterday.
Murphy argued the bill would likely help President Trump and Elon Musk "in their corruption and illegality" so he voted against it and went on Instagram to tell his followers what happened.
He said he knew Congress needed to pass something, but complained Republicans had "drafted by themselves a bill" without Democrat input. He described the bill as keeping funding levels pretty much the same as the prior year, but with some "major adjustments" that would give Trump more power, like power to spend on new military projects "without any authorization from Congress."
"Never before since I've been in Congress has a funding bill, a full year funding bill passed written only by one party," lamented Murphy. "The rules of the Senate require that when you pass a funding bill, you have to get the minority party's consent. That's why you need 60 votes in order to pass a funding bill and what that normally means is that the minority party, whether it be Republicans or Democrats have a seat at the table."
"Why would Republicans work with us [in the future] if they know that we will provide them with the votes for a bill that they've written by themselves? So, there's a really dangerous precedent here," says Murphy.
After he blathers on about the funding bill, Murphy gets back to his main problem -- Trump and Musk.
"This is an exceptional moment," explains Murphy. "We have never been confronted with the threat that we are being confronted right now by Donald Trump and Elon Musk and their billionaire crowd that wants to seize control of our government in order to steal from us and destroy the rule of law and our democracy in order to enable that corruption because they can't get away with it if there's an accountability structure," charged Murphy.
He said Democrats need to decide right now on where they "draw the line" with Trump because he believes we're already in a constitutional crisis -- not yet a "five alarm constitutional crisis" -- but Murphy argues Trump is setting up a five alarm crisis right at this very moment.
"We could, for instance, decide to not move forward on any legislation in the United States Senate until Republicans have stopped endorsing and supporting this unconstitutional power grab, this assault on the rule of law," says a visibly desperate Murphy.
"We could decide that we're not going to support any nominees that the Trump Administration puts forward who do not pledge to stop the illegality that is happening in our government. We could have decided to not show up to the State of the Union speech because being there in some ways legitimized a president who is lying and stealing from us, the White House that is the most corrupt in the history of the country," Murphy continues, acknowledging that a shutdown would have been difficult.
"We need to understand that this is an exceptional moment that demands exceptional action," said Murphy who claimed Republicans "are breaking norms every day" with "risk tolerant behavior" because they support Trump.
And if Republicans are "throwing out the norms" then Murphy threatened Democrats should "throw out the norms as well" ... otherwise, "our democracy is going to die, our democracy is going to die!"
"At some point you have to fight fire with fire," said Murphy.
Then he argued, "we need to mobilize not thousands of Americans, not tens of thousands of Americans, but hundreds of thousands of Americans. We will have to be out there in the streets in a way that America has maybe never seen before."
Murphy thinks the only way Americans will "take that kind of risk" and flood the streets is if they see their elected leaders taking the same kind of risks as well. He wants fellow Democrats to take bigger risks to fight every single thing the Trump Administration tries to do, everything Republicans want to pass in Congress--he wants to make it as difficult as possible.
"Let's go out and run town halls in their districts instead of just staying in Washington and staying in our states, let's go out there and make Republicans lives' miserable for them if they continue to back this illegal and unconstitutional agenda," challenged Murphy, encouraging the use of "exceptional tactics" to fight Trump.
Murphy says this is just the beginning of the conversation, and urges people to hold both Republicans and Democrats "accountable" for supporting Trump.
"But we also need to remember what the true threat of this country is. We need to remember that it is Donald Trump and Elon Musk who are stealing from us as we speak. We need to remember that they are the ones trying to destroy our democracy. And every single day, there is a ratcheting up of the threats to this country," said an exacerbated Murphy whose ultimate goal is "stopping the billionaire takeover of this government."
More gaslighting from one of Alex Soros's close buddies.
Meanwhile, Murphy wants followers to be angry, stay in the fight, and channel that rage into taking action. He's even going to use resources that have been sent to him in the past couple weeks to help people mobilize.
Perhaps the best point he made in the whole rant was, "this is an existential moment for our country."
Indeed it is.
Why does this idiot hold office as a senator from connecticut? I don't think Nutmeggers are that stupid to continue to vote for this absurdity!
President Trump advises US Governors to secure our elections:
Those four things, proof of citizenship, voter ID, paper ballots, one-day voting.
“... let's go out there and make Republicans lives' miserable for them if they continue to back this illegal and unconstitutional agenda,"
(said the clown who defecates on that Constitution with abandon)

Most of whom are educated beyond their intelligence, cheer un-American socialist policy, are truly ignorant of the Constitution, and adore the boy-wonder.
Turn the culture, Republicans!!
