We can't imagine a more appropriate choice to lead a protest in honor of a communist holiday than the fake Vietnam Vet who won the 2021 Amistad Award from Connecticut People's World, an award described as "a beautiful tribute" from labor leaders "honoring how important the Communist Party is" in the labor movement.
When video of the Awards ceremony eventually surfaced, Sen. Richard Blumenthal quickly denied knowing that People's World was a Communist group.
It's far from the only thing he's denied knowing about, as we were about to learn!
In fact, before the protest got started, we had an opportunity to ask Dick about the notorious "Maryland dad" that he and all the democrats keep supporting, Kilmar Abrego Garcia.
Dick immediately responded without thinking, "we are supporting him to bring him back because he was deported illegally."
This is the same thing all democrats and their mouthpieces, like Indivisible, have been saying for weeks by now, completely ignoring key details about the case.
We pointed out all of the evidence that was piling up against Kilmar, including the recording of the wife-beating allegations, and how Biden's FBI advised Tennessee police not to detain Kilmar when it was apparent he was engaged in human trafficking, and how Biden's ICE officers never showed up after being called, either.
Blumenthal pretended to be completely unaware of this information.
Shortly after that, he was called up to give a speech to rally the crowd of mostly older folks who were genuinely terrified about Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid getting gutted at the "benefit of the billionaire class."
Rather than addressing these concerns, Dick designed his comments to keep people scared and afraid so they continue to protest. He promised they were "making a difference" to make them feel good, and then led protesters toward the Tesla parking lot.
That's when we had an opportunity to chat up State Rep. Matt Blumenthal, Dick's son.
Matty told us more or less the exact same thing about Kilmar as his dad -- that democrats are "just supporting the rule of law and due process" and "the Constitution" to bring back this Maryland dad.
"The government doesn't have a right to just say you did something wrong and grab you off the street and deport you to a foreign gulag. They have an obligation to prove it in a court of law. That's how we defend against having dictators and kings," explained the younger Dick.
We also asked Matty about why he wants men to dominate women's sports, and why he refuses to stand up to protect women.
"There are professionals who deal with this situation who run these conferences and these sports leagues, and I don't think that politicizing issues like this helps anyone," said Blumenthal. "I think the answer is, let these people who are on the ground make the decisions that are best for their leagues."
We have no idea why Matty hates women so much, but that's what he said.
Then we asked Dick why he voted against protecting women in women's sports, and the first thing he did was deny that he knew what we were talking about.
Much like Matt, rather than just standing up for women, Dick said these decisions should be made "at the state and local level" though he kinda seemed uncomfortable about the idea of his own daughter being treated unfairly in women's sports.
For the record, not only has Dick voted against protecting women's sports, he even joined a letter led by another Connecticut democrat politician, Congresswoman Jahana Hayes, demanding that the Department of Education let males participate in girls sports.
You just can't make this stuff up.
We walked and talked with protesters on their route, and found many people still have no idea why they are protesting and are just reliving their glory days from the 60's while they still can.
Then we met a couple that perfectly summed up the vibe we had been feeling all afternoon.
The man was holding a poster that said "May Day Strong" so we instinctively asked, "did you know May Day is a Communist holiday?"
They answered yes.
So we said, "oh, are you communists?"
They smiled and nodded their heads in the affirmative.
And there you have it.
Just like we told you, May Day is for the communists, but don't expect the local media to tell you that!
Instead they'll tell you it was just "a nationwide day of peaceful events" meant to "celebrate labor victories and oppose policies of the Trump administration."
Like father, like son...they've made lying and dodging the truth an artform. Gullibility runs deep here in CT.
