Karen England, the President of Capitol Resource Institute, along with a team of advocates launched Take Back The Classroom to highlight the growing problem of pornography in public schools.
The organization has created a set of tools for parents to help better understand parental rights in school, a guide that provides instruction on how to remove pornography from schools, and a template that details the Freedom of Information request process for each state.
Additionally, the group has created a reporting tool to expose pornographic books in any school district. All you have to do is complete a simple form to submit a report.
So far, Take Back The Classroom has highlighted dozens of books found in schools all across the country, including the Simsbury Public School District in Connecticut, which had 28 books on the list.
Two of the books located in Squadron Lane School (K-6), including It's Perfectly Normal and The Big Bath House, featured plenty of nudity and explicit content.
In fact, It’s Perfectly Normal was actually written by a former member of Planned Parenthood’s National Board of Advocates, and is meant for children aged 10 and up. Topics in the book include oral and anal sex, masturbation, STDs, rape, and abortion.
Regardless of the author’s stated intention, It’s Perfectly Normal sexually grooms young girls and boys by using cartoonish graphic images to intentionally lower their natural inhibitions about private and sensitive subjects. The goal is to normalize every form of sexual expression, because after all, it’s “perfectly normal.”
Noticeably absent from this book are any discussions of such things as marriage or family, or the consequences of engaging in pre-marital sex, having an abortion, or contracting a STD. Rather, the author emphasizes having sex simply because it feels good.

Two books were flagged at Henry James Middle School including Beyond Magenta by Susan Kuklin and Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson.
Twenty-six books were flagged at Simsbury High School, including many now-familiar titles like Gender Queer, Flamer, All Boy's Aren't Blue, Jack of Hearts (and other parts), Lawn Boy, The Bluest Eye and more.
In case you're wondering why there seems to be an endless supply of pornographic books in schools you can thank organizations like the American Library Association, Planned Parenthood, Scholastic, GLSEN, the National Education Association teachers union and others for providing the funding.
