On Saturday, January 25, 2025, an assembly of members and friends of the Connecticut Republican Assembly (CTRA) convened at Casa Mia at The Hawthorne in Berlin for their 8th Annual Luncheon & Convention. The theme of the convention was, “Fight, Fight, Fight for Connecticut!”

Doug Dubitsky, State Representative of District 47, spoke on points of communication and also the need for Republicans to work on candidate election strategies.

A break followed to visit allied organizations at the Engagement Tables which included Greater Education Council of Connecticut - GECC, CT Parents Involved in Education - CTPIE, Family Institute of Connecticut - FIC, CT Liberty Alliance - CTLA, and The Educational Association of Christian Homeschoolers - TEACH CT.

Then NRFA Vice President for Expansion Mary Lou Daxland provided a regional and national update, the Mark W. Anderson Award was given to outgoing CTRA President Anne Manusky, and the attendees dined on a buffet lunch, which included a decorated CTRA cake.

Keynote Speaker Mike Smith, producer and director of the ‘Out of Shadows’ documentary, talked about psychological manipulation, the media and trafficking, what his follow-up film ‘Into the Light’ is about, and the twists and turns of his career in Hollywood that led him to follow Jesus Christ.

Finally, CTRA Members convened to their Annual Meeting to elect CT Republican Assembly statewide officers and to amend a few by-laws for clarity. The officers were elected as follows:

    CTRA PRESIDENT: Mark R. Mnich
CTRA FIRST VICE-PRESIDENT: Michael Goldstein, MD
    CTRA SECOND VICE-PRESIDENT: Vacant
    CTRA SECRETARY: Ken Goyette
    CTRA TREASURER: Kathryn Chester
CTRA NATIONAL DIRECTORS: Anne Manusky and Manny Santos

The Connecticut Republican Assembly is a chapter of the National Federation of Republican Assemblies (NFRA), a grassroots movement made up of Reagan/Douglass conservatives who believe in small government, lower taxes, free market capitalism, a strong defense, the right to life, and a decent America.

President Ronald Reagan described the NFRA as, “the Republican wing of the Republican Party, the home of the Frederick Douglass Republicans, and the conscience of the Republican Party.” It was founded in California in 1934. CTRA supports true Republican candidates, endorses in primaries, and works to restore the Republican Party to the values and principles of the Party of Reagan.
