Last night, like many of you, I watched the RNC. It was exhilarating and the energy was palpable. It was great to see Connecticut RNC Committeewoman Leora Levy represent Connecticut. Leora gave a moving prayer for America, the peace of Jerusalem and prayers for freedom for the Israeli Hostages. She also prayed for Corey Comperatore and his family along with the victims of the attempted assassination at President Trump's campaign rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. You can hear a portion of that prayer here:

Leora Levy is a Cuban jew who fled communism. Her story is like so many refugees coming to America for a better life to escape the communism.

What was great about the speeches last night was the showcase of Every Day Americans, including one woman, Linda Fornos, who left Nicaragua 16 years ago for Las Vegas.

Linda voted for Biden in 2020 and in 2022 she lost her home to a devastating fire. She expressed the struggle under Biden, with one son working 3 jobs, another working 2 jobs and her full time job just to make ends meet. 6 jobs for 3 people is just too much. Inflation is one of the largest drivers causing real pocketbook pain for All Americans.

Linda expressed disgust for the border crisis and the struggle of legal immigrants that are hurt the most by illegal immigration. She expressed the failure of education and a curriculum that no longer focuses on reading, writing and math. I have also written about how the Democrats are failing our children, especially in the cities in the article - Your Child Your Choice

Linda, like so many other Latinos, is voting for Republicans this November because “Life was different under President Trump… we prospered” - She urged her “Beloved Latinos to Wake Up and Smell the Cafecito.” She further expressed that her vote has been taken for granted and will not be taken for granted under Trump. You can watch her speech here.

My Own Experience that the Latino Tide is Turning In Connecticut was solidified when we marched in the Puerto Rican Day Parade in Bridgeport. It was a wonderful experience to celebrate Puerto Rican heritage, community, culture and music. We had a blast and we were one of a handful of Republican politicians or candidates that marched. The other was Shelton Mayor Mark Lauretti.

We experienced so much support and love from the Puerto Rican Community. There was also representation of Dominicans and other Latinos that marched in this parade and we saw flags from many Caribbean countries represented as well.

We interacted with voters many of them who are moving to the Republican platform because of the issues that Linda spoke about: Affordable gas, groceries, rent, healthcare access and education.

Latinos do not want to be taken for granted at the expense of illegal immigrants. Unfortunately, this is the focus of the democrats to ignore legal immigrants and sacrifice them for the illegal immigrants by giving them all of these benefits, housing, education and more.

While many of those we spoke with are democrats or unaffiliates that have voted democrat, they are coming our way and we are grateful for the messages of support. They also asked how they could help our campaign and volunteer.

With changes like this, we can defeat Himes, a man who has expressed a great respect for the Sandinistas from Nicaragua. See my article on that. I have no such respect for communism.

This campaign is all about Taking it to the People and Taking it to the Streets. At the end of this it is all about the people and not about parties, and I am the candidate of the people.

This is why it is more important to make your voices heard at the ballot box this November and this August at the Primary. There are no excuses. This is your fight to save our democracy and our country and the time is NOW.

Help me get through this primary so we can get to the people and retire Jim.

MAKE YOUR VOICES HEARD ON AUGUST 13th BY GOING TO THE POLLS.

Sharing is Caring - so if you like the message please pass it on.

Thank you for your continued support.
