Trump has made his feelings on windmills very clear: they are littered all over our country, not really green, driving whales "loco" and killing the birds.

He's pointed out how wind is "the most expensive" energy you can get, and "the scam of the century" with insiders getting rich off government subsidies.

So the Trump Administration's decision to pull the plug on the Revolution Wind Project last week shouldn't have come as a surprise to Connecticut democrats, but it did, and they took the news really hard.

Today, New London Mayor Mike Passero, along with Senators Blumenthal and Murphy, Governor Lamont and other officials, lined up to express their outrage over the decision to issue a stop work order for construction on the Revolution Wind Project.

Mayor Passero said he was proud that New London was on the forefront of the push for green energy and decarbonization, and hoped that the project would be back in operation in short order.

Katie Dykes, the Commissioner of the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, said the stop work order cited concerns over national security interests and interference with reasonable use of US waters.

Dykes assured everyone that the project has been properly permitted through a 9-year process, and said it's 80% complete, having already spent "billions" on the project along with Rhode Island.

She said that they expected the project to contribute to the grid in the second half of next year, supplying 2.5% of the energy needed in New England. Allegedly, there is no substitute for that energy supply should it be interrupted.

Dykes promised there would be an "elevated risk" of "rolling blackouts" without the windmills, and also bigger supply charges on electric bills. Because those public benefits charges aren't high enough!

Sen. Richard Blumenthal said that they were all united -- the federal, state and local politicians along with the labor unions -- because "this action is... NUTS. It is nuts, crazy, insane to stop a project that is 80% completed." He promised higher electric bills, too.

Plus, he asserted the stop work order was "blatantly illegal, lawless, and reckless" and promised they will win in court over Trump's "irrational" decision to cancel the project out of "vengeance and vanity."

Blumenthal thinks there are absolutely "no facts" to justify the decision.

Sen. Chris Murphy was especially angry about the "visionary" project getting shuddered, insisting the decision wasn't "made on the level."

"This isn't about national security. This isn't about some secret study at NOAA. This is a decision about politics," said a TDS-addled Murphy. "The President of the United States has pledged his loyalty to the Oil & Gas Industry, plain and simple."

"This President is committed to destroying renewable energy and to powering this country only on oil and gas to please and help his friends," claimed Murphy. He alleged the law was on their side and they would win in court.

Like Dick, Murphy promised that energy costs would go up as a result of this decision, and also because of tariffs, perhaps as much as $100 a family next year.

Murphy said the windmill project will not only "lower costs" but also "maintain and build on our commitment to making sure that our kids don't suffocate in a world that has been transformed by climate change."

Governor Lamont said he was "shocked" about the decision and wanted to get the project going again, promising it would lower energy costs next year and guarantee reliability. He appeared visibly upset and angry, raising his voice while he spoke.

"We're going to get this over the finish line," said Lamont. "I feel very confident that this is such a dumb decision, it's going to get fixed."

He was just as bent out of shape about the project ending as the other politicians -- because "a deal is a deal" and they want to keep the gravy train rolling.

He even said the "stuff about national security" was nothing but "hogwash."

Gosh, Democrats haven't been this mad since last week's press conference about State Rep. Corey Paris.

Overpriced boondoggle that is anti-American. Offshore private corporate profiting from hard working Americans. THEN, we get threats from the communists that we will all lose power is the cold. Guess what? You knew this was coming yet you'd rather keep us poor with 2nd highest energy prices in the country and refuse to tap into the Gas and cheaper sources of fuel. Millstone is the only thing that is good for CT and you almost killed that.
