At a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania this afternoon, Donald Trump was shot at approximately 6:11pm. Video coverage of Trump grabbing at the side of his head was followed by images of blood on his face while Secret Service surrounded him.
Before being dragged off stage, he pumped his fist a couple times in the air, apparently saying "FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT" which prompted the crowd to start chanting USA USA USA!
At least one person who attended the rally was killed and two people were injured, according to a statement by the U.S. Secret Service. One of the injured was apparently the nephew of Congressman Ronny Jackson (TX).
Butler County district attorney Richard Goldinger confirmed the shooter was also killed.
One person reported seeing the sniper on the roof of AGR International Inc, and notified police.
Most importantly, TRUMP IS SAFE!
“President Trump thanks law enforcement and first responders for their quick action during this heinous act,” spokesman Steven Cheung said in a statement. “He is fine and is being checked out at a local medical facility. More details will follow.”
In a subsequent statement on social media, Trump thanked the Secret Service and Law Enforcement for their rapid response. He extended condolences to the families of the person who was killed and to the family of the person who was injured.
"I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear. I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening. GOD BLESS AMERICA!" said Trump.
The incident comes days after Biden and top Democrat donor and Epstein Island visitor Reid Hoffman, and others, seemingly made assassination comments.
Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy responded to the attack on Trump, saying, "We should all condemn what happened today and I'm hoping for the health of the former president and everyone else at the rally."
Senator Richard "Danang Dick" Blumenthal said, "Political violence of any kind is unacceptable. I am thankful for law enforcement’s swift response. My thoughts are with former President Trump."
Rep. Rosa DeLauro commended the response of the Secret Service in her comments...
"Political violence and gun violence of any kind have absolutely no place in our society and are never acceptable," said Gov. Ned Lamont. "We must all as Americans be able to express our views freely and without the fear of violence."
Lamont said his thoughts were with former President Trump and everyone who attended the rally. "I am relieved that everyone appears to be safe. I also commend the U.S. Secret Service and law enforcement for their swift action to protect everyone’s safety,” said Lamont.
Rep. Jahana Hayes issued a statement about the "possible shooting", and said political violence of any kind is unacceptable, and condemned the "cowardly" incident.
Rep. Joe Courtney wished Trump a swift recovery and condemned all political violence.
Rep. Jim Himes said, "Violence, especially political, has no place in our society. Every American should be free and safe to express and share their views with civility. My thoughts are with the former President and all who were harmed at today’s rally."
Rep. John Larson said, "Thank God President Trump is safe and being treated. Our prayers and thoughts are with him, his family, and all those in attendance at the rally. We thank the Secret Service and law enforcement for acting quickly and condemn all forms of violence."
The radical BLM 860 activists seemed to want to celebrate the shooter... and downplayed Trump's injuries as "just a lil flesh wound.."
In fact, BLM 860 issued a statement on X saying, "We will not be condemning the incident against the former president today" and suggested that people could "cry in the comments" about the position. And when people pushed back on the insensitive comments about the shooting , BLM 860 said, "Eh. It happens everyday in the hood."
The BLM 860 radicals weren't the only ones with a bizarre response to the attempt on Trump's life.
Elon Musk said Trump has his full support. Elon was also quick to point out Reid Hoffman's comments. Musk said, "The Reid Hoffman’s of the world got their dearest wish … but then the martyr lived."
Matt Walsh pointed out that the roof with a direct sightline to the stage had not been secured by secret service.
"Our choices here are extreme unbelievable negligence or something much worse," lamented Walsh.
Walsh isn't the only one suggesting Secret Service might not have been up to par today...
People are calling for the immediate resignation of the Director of the Secret Service, Kim Cheatle, after agents failed to secure the area around the rally, and even suggesting it was an "inside job" due to the presence of a ladder next to the building used by the sniper.
Cheatle was on the team that evacuated Dick Cheney on 9/11, and was on Biden's detail when he was Vice President. Biden appointed Cheatle in 2022.
By the way, Cheatle says there was "nothing nefarious" about the deleted J6 texts. Really?
And the icing on the cake?
Good to see Trump is on his way out of the hospital and making his way back to New Jersey.
This wasn't a surprise - expect more of the same as November approaches...
