For months, Israel has been fighting for its survival against the Iranian Proxies of Hezbollah and Hamas and against Iran itself. Now there are consequences to US defense contractor jobs and Connecticut has already suffered defense contractor layoffs with no support from the Connecticut Congressmen and Women, including Jim Himes.
Israel has been weakened for political reasons because the Biden/Harris Administration and Jim Himes are delaying or not sending critical weapons. In response to this policy, Israel is expanding domestic productions of the weapons they need to fight their enemies. Self-sufficiency is critical to the survival of Israel because they cannot rely on the US.
Our credibility as an ally is compromised when we don’t supply our allies with the weapons they need during an active war which has increased. As Israel is one of the US’ strongest allies and they are being betrayed, other countries will soon realize that they cannot trust us and they will seek new alliances. Those other alliances will not be as pro-US.
This is a critical mistake in foreign policy that will weaken us geopolitically.
As Israel makes its own weapons rather than buy them from the US, this will cost us American defense jobs. Connecticut has a significant defense contracting presence and has been experiencing layoffs because they are not getting certain US contracts that our 5 democrat congressmen could have secured if they banded together.
There are consequences for these bad decisions as the US continues to snub Israel for political reasons to earn the support of certain voters, especially in the battleground states of Minnesota and Michigan.
This is another example of pandering gone wrong and a further example of condoning certain antisemitism which is anti-Americanism from within the halls of Congress and the White House.
These and many other bad decisions by this administration is the reason why we need change in November.
