Connecticut Senator Chris Murphy will be moderating a conversation with Hillary Clinton about life, politics, and her new book at The Bushnell in Hartford later this month, on September 26th.
The visit is part of a 16-city book tour in support of Clinton's new memoir, Something Lost, Something Gained: Reflections on Life, Love, and Liberty, which is set to be released on September 17th.
“At each event, Secretary Clinton and a moderator will take the audience on a journey of unvarnished exchanges on politics, democracy, the threats we face, as well as friendship, aging, marriage, and how we can all work together to shape a future to be proud of,” an advance press release stated.
“I can’t wait to hit the road and talk about Something Lost, Something Gained with you in person. I hope you can join me for wide-ranging conversations that go behind the scenes and include never-before told stories,” Clinton said in a statement. “We’ll discuss the state of our politics and creating the future we want for our children and grandchildren and, most of all, have some fun while we’re at it!”
It remains to be seen whether Murphy will field questions, for instance, about the shocking number of folks tied to Hillary who have met an untimely demise, her experience with Haitian voodoo rituals, the revelations from the WikiLeaks files, her fondness for using hammers to solve hard drive problems, the phony Russia collusion hoax she masterminded, her numerous ties to child and sex traffickers, whatever it was that went down in Haiti with all that aid money, the terrorist attack on Benghazi, the real story behind that video of Hillary "fainting" in New York eight years ago, etc.
Tickets for the Hartford event will set you back at least $109 for the mezzanine and balcony, while the orchestra section appears to be sold out.
Hillary's Hartford conversation will take place a couple days after the Clinton Global Initiative ("CGI") 2024 Annual Meeting in New York from September 23-24.
In addition to Bill, Hillary and Chelsea Clinton, more than 130 participants have been announced, including the Co-Founder and Chairman of Moderna, Noubar Afeyan; the Chairman and CEO of Pfizer, Albert Bourla; the Director-General of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus; a Sustainable Development Goals advocate from the United Nations and the Executive Secretary of the UN's Framework Convention on Climate Change, along with corporate CEOs from well-known brands like IKEA, Gap, Mastercard, Pinterest and Chobani; and elected officials like Governor Katie Hobbs (AZ) and Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham (NM), among others.
The meeting will address the world’s most pressing challenges, from CGI's perspective, including how:
"Amid these high stakes, we face weakened trust in institutions and the political process because of global conflicts, polarized societies and politics, and various forms of oppression and misinformation," says the CGI meeting notice.
CGI has been widely criticized as an alleged pay-for-play vehicle that just enriched the Clintons.
Of course, book deals can be lucrative, too.
Bus a large group of Springfield, Ohioans into the venue. Tie Chris Murphy into the Biden/Harris invasion.
Addendum to my first comment bus in Ohioans:
Ensure you have good, solid reporters at the event, ones affiliated with strong, independent reporting (hopefully) thriving in Connecticut.
