Poor Chris Murphy.
He's absolutely losing his mind over Trump's Executive Order, Realigning The United States Refugee Admissions Program, which suspended funding to a number of groups that assist refugees with housing, job placement, legal services and more.
The order says, "The United States lacks the ability to absorb large numbers of migrants, and in particular, refugees, into its communities in a manner that does not compromise the availability of resources for Americans, that protects their safety and security, and that ensures the appropriate assimilation of refugees."
The U.S. State Department “stop work order” took effect on Friday, Jan 24, at 5 pm, impacting organizations like IRIS, Integrated Refuge and Immigrant Services, which just saw $4M in government funding grind to a halt.
Murphy called the decision to stop aid "dumb and murderous" and claimed it would benefit "terrorists."
"So today we just stopped feeding babies and housing refugees and mediating conflicts all around the world. Aid orgs are laying off staff and many programs will not restart," argued Murphy. "Tons of kids are just going to die needlessly. Famine has struck in Sudan, but because of the freeze, our most important life savings programs shut down. Within weeks or maybe days, malnourished babies who rely on our food and care will die."
Then Murphy complained about Trump's deportation program for illegal aliens, the people who Murphy cares about the most, and how it will make conditions worse in the illegals' home countries.
"Trump is deporting millions of people while making conditions worse in the countries he’s sending people back to – defunding schools, clinics, and refugee camps," Murphy said, showing he still cares more about illegals than American citizens.
In fact, Murphy believes the point of Trump's order to reevaluate refugee admissions is to "destroy U.S. power in the world"... and that somehow this will help China "who is INCREASING its aid programs"... which will somehow benefit Trump's billionaire friends.
Back to the billionaire narrative, eh?
The response to Murphy's thread was brutal.
