Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, standing in the gap not only for Connecticut, but for our entire nation. We lift up our families, our children, and the moral foundation upon which our homes and communities are built. Lord, You are the Author of family. You have entrusted children to the care and instruction of their parents—not to the government, not to political agendas, and not to activist ideologies.
We thank You that all Your promises are “Yes” and “Amen” in Christ Jesus, and we declare them over our families right now.
God, we grieve the dangerous direction our state lawmakers are heading with HB 7213, SJ-00035, SB 1271, and SB 7. These bills, if passed, would erode the rights of parents and enshrine confusion, death, and deception into law. They allow minors to make life-altering decisions without their parents’ knowledge or consent. They remove transparency in education and codify gender ideology and abortion-on-demand into our Constitution. Father, these proposals are not just political—they are spiritual. And we turn to You, the One who reigns above every earthly power.
We pray as Your Word says in Romans 15:13 (NKJV):
“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”
Lord, fill parents across Connecticut and this nation with hope, joy, and peace—even in the face of opposition. Let them abound in hope, not despair, by the power of the Holy Spirit. Strengthen them to believe that You are still at work, that You have not abandoned our children, and that You will raise up a standard against the enemy.
Turn the hearts of our leaders, as Proverbs 21:1 says: “The king’s heart is in the hand of the Lord, like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes.” We ask You, Lord, to redirect the hearts of legislators who have forgotten righteousness. Awaken their consciences. Expose every agenda that seeks to divide families and confuse children. Let truth prevail in the halls of government.
Raise up courageous voices—parents, pastors, teachers, and leaders—who will not bow to fear but will speak the truth in love. Let Your Church arise as a voice of reason and righteousness in this hour.
We declare that children are a heritage from the Lord (Psalm 127:3), and we reject every attempt to sever the God-ordained bond between parent and child. We rebuke every demonic scheme that would seek to redefine identity, silence truth, or call evil good and good evil.
Father, we cry out for mercy. We ask for revival in our state and reformation in our government. Let Connecticut and our nation return to a fear of the Lord, for Your Word declares that “righteousness exalts a nation” (Proverbs 14:34). Let laws be established that protect innocence, honor life, and uphold parental authority.
Heal our land, O God. As 2 Chronicles 7:14 says, we humble ourselves, we pray, we seek Your face, and we turn from wicked ways—believing You will hear from heaven, forgive our sin, and bring healing.
Let every parent be filled with hope today. Let every believer rise in intercession. Let every legislator be reminded that they will one day answer to You. And let the name of Jesus be lifted high above every law, agenda, and spirit of this age.
We say Yes and Amen to Your promises.
We trust You.
We believe You.
And we will not be silent.
In the mighty name of Jesus,
Amen.
Wow, it's truly inspiring how creatively you've managed to interpret Jesus's teachings into 'Thou shalt panic about imaginary threats.' I'd almost forgotten the verse, 'Blessed are those who obsess over conspiracy theories, for theirs is the kingdom of manufactured outrage.' Amen!
