Blumenthal And Murphy Want Federal Funding To Subsidize Construction Costs For Hartford Gay & Lesbian Health Collective Known As A "Champion Of LGBTQIA+ Equity"
Congressman Matt Gaetz exposed Connecticut Senators Richard Blumenthal and Chris Murphy for wanting to give $156,000 in taxpayer dollars to subsidize a controversial health organization in Hartford.
The Hartford Gay & Lesbian Health Collective (HGLHC) describes itself as “a health center and champion of LGBTQIA+ equity" that "advocates for systemic solutions to the health care access barriers and health disparities experienced by sexual and gender minority groups."
HGLHC aims to become the premier health and wellness center for the LGBTQIA+ community in Connecticut.
It currently provides medical services, dental services, support groups, and health education tailored primarily to LGBTQIA+ communities.
HGLHC has full and part-time staff, along with more than 100 volunteers who contribute thousands of hours annually to support the group's efforts, which include organizing community and educational events.
For instance, HGLHC held an event called "Butt Stuff: Pleasure and Safety for Anal Play" last year.
The event targeted folks "having anal sex or any kind of anal play" in order to share health and safety information, as well as how to make "butt sex" an enjoyable experience. Attendees were entered into a drawing to win a free vibrator.
HGLHC celebrates special occasions, such as National Masturbation Month, Pan Sexual Visibility Day, and Trans Awareness Day. They encourage members and followers to sponsor a student to attend a Queer Prom, to "support trans kids" and to back "autonomy" for trans youth, in conjunction with the Queer Youth Assembly. HGLHC has even called for "decolonizing indigenous sexualities" in honor of Native American Heritage Month.
The organization also believes in what it calls "inclusive sex education at every age."
In case you don't know what that means, think of the "Gender Unicorn" and "Genderbread Person" — both of these radical gender ideology tools have been shared by HGLHC — and pronouns. Lots of pronouns.
HGLHC has also shared insights from pediatric gender experts.
Yes, pediatric.
The two doctors who spoke at the HGLHC-sponsored virtual event came from the Connecticut Children's Gender Program and also served as Assistant Professors in the University of Connecticut School of Medicine. Both doctors, Priya Phulwani and Christopher Hughes, are members of the controversial World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH).
The event flyer specifically mentioned that participants would learn about "medical/surgical options for gender diverse children & adolescents and when they may be appropriate" — options that many people view as being absolutely barbaric and gruesome. In fact, the unproven, unscientific and experimental nature of transgender medicine was recently exposed by a whistleblower in the WPATH files.
It's no wonder so many people are up in arms about this funding request from Blumenthal and Murphy.
