The Connecticut Bar Association (CBA) wants you to know that "words matter" and "reckless words attacking the integrity of our judicial system" apparently matter even more.

That's why CBA President Maggie Castinado, President-Elect James T. (Tim) Shearin, and Vice President Emily A. Gianquinto issued a statement that is sending shockwaves among attorneys in Connecticut, especially those attorneys who still value free speech and recognize the Trump verdict is deeply political.

    The warning says:

In the wake of the recent trial and conviction of former President Donald Trump, public officials have issued statements claiming that the trial was a “sham,” a “hoax,” and “rigged”; our justice system is “corrupt and rigged”; the judge was “corrupt” and “highly unethical”; and, that the jury was “partisan” and “precooked.” Others claimed the trial was “America’s first communist show trial”—a reference to historic purges of high-ranking communist officials that were used to eliminate political threats.

CBA argues these comments are "unsubstantiated and reckless" and that wrongthink of this magnitude could "provoke acts of violence" against judicial branch employees.

"Such statements strike at the very integrity of the third branch of government and sow distrust in the public for the courts where it does not belong," warns the CBA.

The CBA recognizes that free speech includes criticism.

Except, of course, when it comes to Donald Trump.

In this case the CBA thinks that "baseless allegations" about the obviously political prosecution of Trump "cross the line from criticism to dangerous rhetoric" and therefore "have no place in the public discourse".

So the CBA urges members not to "let the charged political climate in which we live dismantle the third branch of government."

This is not the first time CBA issued a statement revealing its progressive bias.

On April 5, 2024, CBA, published another political attack against President Trump.

"Not only does CBA's condemnation politically target Trump, a legitimate candidate for president, but the CBA blatantly threatens to violate the Constitution. In fact, these lawless individuals have been illegally 'waging war' against constitutionally protected rights of Connecticut's law-abiding men and women for many years," wrote Lori Hopkins-Cavanagh about the April CBA statement.

At the time Hopkins-Cavanagh accused the CBA of sowing the seeds of communism in its condemnation of Trump and the first and second amendments, and for its interference in the 2024 election "after disenfranchising voters in 2020."

She further alleged, "the CBA wittingly or not, joined forces with Chinese Communist Party operatives who coordinated the COVID Testing and Case Fraud schemes."

It should not be a surprise that the CBA embraces Marxist DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) efforts, so much so that the organization asks members to sign a pledge to commit to doing the work of DEI.

CBA offers a stack of DEI resources on its website, and holds webinars and conferences on DEI and critical race theory ("CRT").

At CBA's most recent DEI conference (October 2023), Harvard Kennedy School Faculty Chair Dr. Robert W. Livingston, who also works as a DEI consultant, told members that racism is a "systemic problem" in America that requires "difficult conversations" about race.

To be clear, the American Bar Association defines CRT as "an academic and legal framework that denotes that systemic racism is part of American society."

CBA additionally offers an ongoing forum for the Connecticut legal community to explore systemic racism with the goal of supporting and advancing civil rights and "social justice".

So it should not at all be a surprise that CBA is attacking Trump, who has promised to stop the Marxists and the Communists, and ban critical race theory. Again, because he already banned it in September 2020 but Joe Biden rescinded that ban.

Criticism of the verdict most definitely has a place in public discourse when an individual's Constitutional rights and legal procedure have both been violated.

The judiciary - NY state and the Federal Judiciary has earned the 'dangerous criticism' and utter contempt which more and more Americans now have after seeing the clear and obvious unprecedented and unlawful persecution and prosecution of PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP. They have made their bed and now must sleep in that urine-soaked bed.
