Connecticut State Rep. Matt Blumenthal posted a rather unhinged video to rile up his comrades in the Indivisible Stamford Facebook group about the 2025-2026 SAVE Act, which just passed in the U.S. House of Representatives last week in a 220 - 208 vote.
"This bill is truly insane, and would constitute the most significant act of voter suppression since the Jim Crow era," alleges Blumenthal who happens to be Co-Chair of the Government Administration and Elections Committee for the Connecticut General Assembly.
"The voter verification requirements in this bill would create the biggest disenfranchisement of all," says Blumenthal before he gaslights listeners about married women not being able to vote if their birth certificate doesn't match their ID -- a claim which has already been debunked by the White House.
Blumenthal promises that if the SAVE Act passes in the Senate, Connecticut will fight back with more lawfare aimed at the Trump Administration, and then "in the General Assembly."
"We already know that voter fraud is vanishingly rare," says Blumenthal, pretending as if nothing happened in Bridgeport. "We've got to fight back and defend against these unconstitutional, illegal, undemocratic voter suppression bills."
Mind you, the SAVE Act would require ‘documentary proof of United States citizenship’ in order to vote.
