You just can't make this stuff up.

ICE arrested 65 illegals in Connecticut during Operation Broken Trust, which most rational people celebrated as good news.

But that good news angered progressive activists so much that 30 groups are now calling on Gov. Lamont, Lt. Gov. Bysiewicz, AG Tong, State Comptroller Scanlon, State Treasurer Russell, Sen. Pres. Looney, State Maj. Leader Duff, Speaker Ritter and Co-Chairs of the Judiciary Committee Winfield and Stafstrom to hold a special session to once again "strengthen" the state's Trust Act.

Because apparently Connecticut's sanctuary laws aren't strong enough to keep ICE entirely out of the state.

The Indivisible-led coalition claims to "represent tens of thousands" of comrades who are "informed, engaged, and increasingly outraged by unauthorized ICE activity" in the state.

They also seem to think that ICE agents are "permitted to act with impunity, in defiance of the U.S. Constitution, and without accountability or transparency."

They described Operation Broken Trust as a "military style operation, conducted by heavily armed, unidentifiable ICE agents dressed in tactical gear" that was "clearly intended to invoke fear and quell resistance while ridiculing, demeaning and delegitimizing our state’s Trust Act."

Forget about the fact that nearly half of the individuals ICE picked up during Operation Broken Trust had been convicted or charged in the United States with serious crimes, including kidnapping, assault, drug offenses, weapons violations, and sex crimes.

Instead, the Indivisible-led alliance expressed outrage that ICE is doing its job of rounding up criminal illegals who were given every opportunity to self-deport, but instead they chose to continue to break federal immigration law.

Mind you, these people didn't seem to complain or protest when criminal illegals were deported under Biden or Obama.

But now that Trump is President, it's suddenly a bad thing because these people have been programmed to hate anything and everything that Trump does -- he could literally cure cancer and these people would protest the right to be sick.

"It is now clear that our state is not immune to the whims of a petulant, vindictive president, and staying silent is not going to protect us," complain the anti-ICE comrades, ticked off that federal agents are "boldly violating our state’s norms and laws" by arresting criminal illegals.

The angry group also wants a little pat on the back for having the "courage" to put themselves "on the front line" in order to "bear witness to and record ICE abductions in real time" -- just like Indivisible Greenwich member Dan Edelstein did when he filmed ICE agent's faces, location and license plate numbers in Stamford in July.

The 30 activist groups are demanding an emergency special session to strengthen the Trust Act to include the following revisions:

    • Protect the Personal Information: Limit "unnecessary and voluntary sharing of personal information" by law enforcement and public agencies, including DSS, DMV, and others... because they wouldn't want that list of illegals with Connecticut drivers licenses to slip out.
    • Protect Immigrants at Courthouses: Prohibit ICE arrests at courthouses, including while people travel to and from the courthouse, and empower judges to enforce this rule. They also want the option for remote appearances for all hearings and court proceedings to further limit a chance of an encounter with ICE.
    • Preserve HUSKY Medicaid: Ensure that no illegals lose HUSKY coverage.
    • Prohibit Use of State and Local Resources On Immigration Enforcement:
      • Prohibit the Connecticut National Guard from participating in federal immigration enforcement.
      • Prevent "out-of-state militias" from conducting immigration operations in CT.
    • Prevent Local Law Enforcement from Assisting ICE: Ban indirect police assistance to ICE, such as sharing surveillance footage, setting up traffic perimeters, or coordinating enforcement actions.
