A couple hundred people gathered at Latham Park in Stamford on Sunday for Indivisible's latest protest, "ICE OUT For Good" — a protest with the stated goal of abolishing ICE.
Michelle Abt from Indivisible Stamford kicked off the event as usual.
"In fact, we learned on January 7th that if you are a peaceful activist just trying to prevent ICE from storming into your neighborhood, that is punishable by death," asserted Abt. "And Renee Nicole Good and all the people that have been tormented by ICE over the last year, and more, will not get justice from this Administration... and that also includes the two people shot in Portland."
Abt left out critical details, like how Good impeded agents who were targeting criminal illegals... how Good's wife told her to "drive, baby, drive" when the agent was in front of the car... and that the people shot in Portland were tied to Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua.
Those facts were unimportant to Abt and every single speaker who followed — they all stuck with the democrat narrative that ICE is "evil" and must be "stopped" at all costs.
“Americans have been… repulsed, sickened by the murder of an innocent, 37-year-old mom, an American citizen. But make no mistake. That brutality is not an isolated incident, it is happening across the country,” claimed Blumenthal. “We need to stop ICE now!”
He wants to defund ICE because he claims the agency is "out of control."
Plus, he wants to force Kristy Noem to resign or be fired for "desecrating and demeaning" Good by calling her a "left wing terrorist" — something he said no public official should be allowed to do.

Lamont was equally upset about Noem calling Good a domestic terrorist, and promised to do everything he could to "protect our rights" in Connecticut... which apparently do not include safety since right after that Lamont boasted about passing the law that hamstrings ICE's ability to arrest illegals in Connecticut courthouses.
"We're protecting you," he said, gaslighting the homogenous crowd.
He further bragged about how Connecticut schools know how to protect students from ICE... "they say keep out, we're protecting our kids, we're not going to know their immigration status and we're not gonna tell you."
Lamont also promised to "protect" residents’ private medical data from being shared with federal authorities because he wants “to make sure people feel safe" and let them know "we got their back.”

He turned the mic over to Stamford Mayor Caroline Simmons.
"Enough is enough," said Simmons. "Right now, we are watching as ICE comes into our communities, terrorizing our immigrant friends and neighbors, dividing us, trying to instill fear in our communities."
She blamed the shooting on ICE, claiming the agency "escalates harsh tactics and violence."

State Rep. Matt Blumenthal told everyone what to think: they should be "outraged" and "horrified" at the "lawless, despicable shooting" of Good but not "surprised" because "this tragedy is an entirely predictable result of this Administration's lawless, reckless, belligerent and dangerous immigration enforcement policies."
We do agree with Matty in that the tragedy was preventable and unnecessary -- all Good had to do was listen to the law enforcement officer who asked her to get out of the car.
“And I’m sure it’s extra shocking for the people of this nation because it’s a person who was a poet, a mother of a 6-year-old, had a glove box filled with stuffed animals,” said Blumenthal who avoided telling people that Good was also a trained “ICE Watch warrior“ who intended to interfere with a federal enforcement action.
He also said it was “bullshit” that the Administration was “lying” about the videos of what happened in Minneapolis, a last bit of gaslighting as he finished his comments.
Then came the closer, Bob Duff, who insisted the Connecticut legislature will take more steps to hamstring ICE in Connecticut, as he led the crowd in a chant to "unmask ICE."
He wants to make sure anyone can live in Connecticut without fear, even illegals.
After that, Michelle Abt asked everyone in the crowd to stay for a “press photo” with Ashley RK Smith from Nancy On Norwalk.
Smith climbed onto the steps, announced that her paper doesn't dox illegals, and told everyone who was "undocumented" to turn around before she took the photo.

By the way, we had an opportunity to ask Senator Duff why he supported abolishing ICE, after all, that was the stated goal from the protest organizers.
Duff said he wasn't talking about abolishing ICE but "making them actually professionals who do the job that they're supposed to do, the mission... they should not be obviously killing people, they should not be out there torturing people, they should be working within the law and they should be doing the mission they have."
Then why speak at a protest about abolishing ICE?

We asked the same question to Mayor Simmons, but she walked away without answering.
Has she forgotten about the two alleged Tren de Aragua members implicated in the 2024 Stamford murder?
Or the criminal alien fugitive and alleged child rapist who had been illegally residing in Stamford? Or the illegal from Peru living in Stamford whose criminal history includes sex assault of a minor? Or the rest of the criminal illegals picked up during Operation Broken Trust?
And, for what it's worth, outside of the very brainwashed folks standing in Latham Square, everyone else we spoke with in Stamford very much appreciated ICE... and felt angered and frustrated by the "useful idiots" who think that federal law shouldn't apply equally to everyone.
