Thousands of people turned up for Glastonbury Pride this weekend, another one of those "family friendly" events that showcase the "Connecticut values" that Democrats always boast about.

The day featured activities and crafts for kids and those of all ages: face painting, bracelet making, color pages, banner decoration, rock painting, paper chain making, and a scavenger hunt with a mystery prize.

Governor Ned Lamont, Lt. Gov. Susan Bysiewicz, Sen. Richard Blumenthal, State Senator MD Rahman, Luke Bronin and others joined the festivities.

Heck, Lamont shelled out $2,500+ to be a "gold sponsor" for the day, alongside other gold sponsors including South Church (the Congregational Church in South Glastonbury), Nutmeg State Financial Credit Union, Henkel and Gilead Community Services.

Glastonbury Pride's title sponsor, Circle Care Center, dropped at least $10k for that honor.

Silvers sponsors, such as Ben & Jerry's, Connecticut Problem Gambling Services (part of the CT Department of Mental Health), and First Church Glastonbury contributed $1,000+, while more than a dozen benefactors at the "Friends of Pride" level, like Sen. Rahman, Hartford Healthcare and Leonard-Litz Foundation, gave $500 each.

That's at least $35k from sponsorships, plus vendors kicked in $50 each for a booth, except not-for-profits which were free.

Speaking of freebies, there were free give-aways from Ben & Jerry's, Starbucks, and Glastonbury Pride, which passed out free books. Glastonbury Fire and EMS passed out stickers, rubber ducks and fire hats.

There were plenty of drag queens lined up for the main stage, with wholesome sounding names like Loosey LaDuca, Cara Ho, Sapphire Bills, and Felicity V. Lay. Because nothing says "family friendly" better than using sexual euphemisms for your stage name!

Senator Richard "Danang Dick" Blumenthal enjoyed the "wonderful celebration of love, kindness & courage" and promised he "won't allow repressive forces to rollback progress."

Was he talking about the courage it takes for scantily-clad men to wear garish make-up and dance in front of young children?

Glastonbury Town Council member Jen Wang also seems to like the "courage" it takes for drag queens to dance provocatively in front of children.

Another woman, Kinsie Dunham, actually told FoxNews how "awesome" it was to see "a little girl in a rainbow dress" excited to "tip the drag queen!"

Local churches participated in the pride festival, including Wapping Community Church, First Church Glastonbury, and St. James' Episcopal Church in Glastonbury, which even featured a transgender heart on its post.

The "Free Mom Hugs" crew was there, and all across the state at pretty much every pride festival and/or parade for that matter.

RAY Life Coaching was selling "I'm Queerly Polyamorous" bags at Glastonbury Pride.

Ray is a "Confidence Coming Out Coach" who teaches organizations, leaders, and families how to be more "authentic" and how to navigate conversations about LGBTQIA+ identities, polyamory, chosen family, consent, boundaries, and belonging.

And if you're curious to learn what everyone's favorite part about pride was, check out this video with short takes from a number of attendees, including Lamont, Bysiewicz, Bronin, and even some children who love pride because it's so inclusive, colorful and friendly.

By the way, it's worth noting that a number of the sponsors for Glastonbury Pride have benefitted from taxpayer money, including:

    • Circle Care Center (Title Sponsor): Received state grants, including ~$62,500 mentioned in 2025 legislative discussions for "emergency funding."
    • Gilead Community Services (Gold Sponsor): A mental health and human services nonprofit that receives significant ongoing state funding/appropriations (via DMHAS and other agencies) for programs like housing, clinical treatment, and victim assistance. It actively advocates for and relies on Connecticut budget allocations.
    • Henkel (Gold Sponsor): Received economic development incentives from the state to relocate here in 2016, including a $20M low-interest loan and eligibility for up to $5M in tax credits (via First Five Plus program and Urban/Industrial Sites Reinvestment Tax Credit) for headquarters relocation/expansion and job creation in Connecticut. Additional subsidies noted in records.
    • Connecticut Problem Gambling Services (Silver Sponsor): This is funded through the Connecticut Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS), which runs and funds problem gambling prevention, awareness, and treatment programs statewide.
    • Hartford HealthCare / Hartford Healthcare (Friends of Pride): Has received state contracts (e.g., COVID-related), CHEFA bond financing support for projects, and is a major Medicaid provider with substantial state reimbursements/payments.

You know, I get protesting the Man. Rebellion of authority is a natural tendency.

But what prompts a reasonably sane individual (young child in tow) to suspend disbelief to such a degree as to cheer on the mental disorder fantasies of a man that preens and parades as some hideous sexual caricature of a woman?

How do you invert nature and reality to such a comedy and believe yourself serious?
