The left-wing activists at Indivisible are at it again, but they aren't just planning another “No Kings” protest. They are circulating a 2026 playbook that claims the midterms are already under attack — and that one of the main “attacks” is conservatives trying to keep non-citizens off the voter rolls.
The document is entitled Hold the Line: A Guide to Defending Democracy. Indivisible chapters are pushing it in the same emails that promote “Election Protection 201” trainings, poll-observer recruitment, voter-protection hotlines, and the next national “No Kings” day of action on October 17.
In Greenwich, that means another protest in front of the Havemeyer Building, 290 Greenwich Avenue, at 2 p.m. on October 17, billed as “No Kings: Protect the Vote.” Organizers want “big numbers,” signs, friends, family — and advance sign-ups so they can plan the turnout.
The guide tells readers there are four “red lines” for 2026, and citizenship verification is one of them:
Under the first two, it lumps together things most Connecticut voters would call basic election integrity, including proof-of-citizenship rules, voter-roll maintenance, limits on mail ballots, and federal efforts to help states check whether registered voters are actually citizens.
The authors treat claims of noncitizen registration as straight-up “disinformation.” They dismiss figures cited by the administration and instead tell activists that fraud is incredibly rare, that voter roll clean-ups remove eligible voters, and that citizenship databases are a tool to “prevent eligible Americans from voting.”
In other words: if Republicans, the Department of Homeland Security, or state officials try to confirm that only citizens are voting, that is not election integrity. That is instead a “red line.” And if that line is crossed, the guide says communities should be ready to organize, alert, and mobilize — including protests, public pressure campaigns on local officials, and rabid response teams like the one that caused chaos outside a Meriden courthouse last week and interfered with an arrest.
The Greenwich Indivisible email points people to the Hold the Line guide. It advertises Election Protection trainings. It asks for poll observers in North Carolina. It asks for hotline staffers. It sends people into Indivisible National’s “Hands Off Our Vote” program, Ground Control phone-and-text banks, ACLU “Know Your Rights” materials, and a Linktree of other volunteer options.
The message being conveyed is simple: The Republicans are coming for the election. You must get into formation.
Indivisible, which has received considerable funding from George Soros' Open Society Foundation including $3 million in 2023, has been pushing this narrative nationally all year. Co-founder Ezra Levin has talked publicly about scenarios ranging from ICE near polling places—a situation Connecticut tried to eliminate with Public Act 26-42—to Republicans “sabotaging” results after Election Day. The group’s Battlegrounds 2026 and Hands Off Our Vote programs tell volunteers the “Trump regime will stop at nothing to subvert the results of the midterms.”
The timing of this effort to undermine trust in the midterms is not accidental.
Last week the Supreme Court voted 6-3 to restore the Trump administration’s expanded SAVE citizenship-verification program in time for the midterms. Justice Jackson, in dissent, conceded that states would use it to check voter rolls before November. Secretary of the State Stephanie Thomas, a regular speaker at Indivisible’s No Kings protests, issued a statement saying Connecticut opposed the SAVE program and would not use it, then sent a fundraising letter off that refusal. To Indivisible and its adherents, including Thomas, that extra verification step is the threat.
There is a reason the left talks about “eligible voters” instead of “citizens.” Citizenship is the line they do not want drawn in public. If the rolls are cleaned—and they need to be, based on Fight Voter Fraud’s latest complaint naming the registrars in 169 towns—if SAVE is used, if states demand proof that a registrant is an American, the activist coalition loses a talking point it has used since 2020: that any attempt to police the list is a plot to disenfranchise eligible voters and steal the election from them.
So they flipped the script. Conservatives who do not want illegal aliens on the voter rolls have now been rebranded as the people plotting to steal the election. Activists are told to treat list maintenance as disenfranchisement, treat fraud concerns as a “lie,” and treat a lost certification fight as an emergency requiring nationwide street mobilization.
If elections are secure and noncitizen voting is a “myth,” then why does the entire democrat machine panic the moment the government tries to prove who is on the list?
