The news broke that the Connecticut Children's Medical Center and Yale Health are both "winding down" their gender transition procedures for children under the age of 19.
While the far left blames President Trump, NBC 30 reports:
Leslie Wolfgang with the Family Institute of Connecticut supports the president’s action.
“I'm glad that he made the bold move to encourage hospitals to reconsider their policies and to stop funding for those procedures and for hospitals if they provided that type of treatment,” Wolfgang said.
In fact--as Peter Wolfgang told News 8 in an interview that will air at 6 pm tonight--this is a tremendous victory for all of us in Connecticut who have stood against the tide of gender madness, even before it was popular to do so.
FIC was the only organization to oppose the original "Bathroom Bill" transgender law in 2011. And the only group to speak out against the so-called "conversion therapy" ban in 2017. We helped connect the young female athletes who are suing the Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference with the legal counsel who are representing them.
More recently, FIC blew the whistle on our Connecticut tax dollars being spent on gender transitions for minors. And we helped publicize a report revealing Connecticut Children's Medical Center's involvement in gender transitions for minors.
It was FIC that kept the issue alive in multiple ways at our state Capitol, like with the stellar testimony this year by gender clinic whistle-blower Jamie Reed.
It was these sorts of efforts--by all of you--that made today's big win possible. You created the cultural space for President Trump, in his defunding threats, and the U.S. Supreme Court, in its United States v. Skrmetti ruling, to stand up for common sense and against gender madness.
In fact, FIC was a signatory to a brief in the Skrmetti case and Peter Wolfgang was with Tennessee Attorney General Jonathan Skrmetti just last week.

The wins, of course, are ultimately not ours but the Lord's. We strive to be faithful to him. With FIC's $50,000 Summer Matching Grant Campaign quickly approaching the July 31st deadline, can you please help us in that effort?
Congratulations again to all of you, our members. You fought alongside us to keep this issue alive, knowing what an uphill battle it would be in Connecticut. Fighters all. We are proud that you are part of the team.
