Congratulations to the Greenwich Republicans for a terrific showing yesterday, re-electing First Selectman Fred Camillo, Selectwoman Lauren Rabin, Town Clerk Jackie Budkins, and Tax Collector Heather Smeriglio, and winning the all-important deciding vote on the town’s finance board, the BET.
The RTM results are not yet official but it looks like there were a number of upsets (e.g., Mark Kordick), and also a strong showing by The Voting Moms, which is just another front organization for the Democrats.
It looks like 27 of the 104 RTM members who voted for ZuckBucks are out, either because they didn’t run for re-election or didn’t win according to the unofficial results. That means 77 people who voted to undermine Greenwich election integrity appear to have retained their seats.
The Registrar’s office issued a statement about RTM results ahead of the election that indicated many of these races are close and often trigger the automatic recount threshold. This happens when the margin between winning and losing candidates is one-half of one percent, or less than 20 votes. Recounts may be waived but it is up to the candidate to decide whether they will take action or let the recount occur.

Perhaps the most interesting quote we’ve seen about the election so far has come from State Rep. Stephen Meskers, who told the Greenwich Free Press, “You need to be energized in the coming months because the battle is not over. Our messaging needs to be resolute. Our message of inclusion, of diversity and equity can’t stop.”
Of course, “equity” is euphemism for “socialism” or “Marxism” so at least you know what Meskers is all about.
He asked people to join the Democrats for “the next battle” which he described as a “battle for the soul of Greenwich”.
Meskers is up for re-election in 2024.
Socialism should never become part of the “soul of Greenwich” so Republicans would be wise to start preparing now for the upcoming battle.
