The Democrats in Hartford are at it again, advancing legislation to further impinge our Second Amendment rights.  State Democrat Rep. Jillian Gilchrest has launched a gambit to add an additional Excise Tax on ammunition.  See H.B. 5114.

As with everything that advances from the American Left, this needs to be stopped in its tracks. The Connecticut Citizens Defense League (CCDL) is an awesome 2A organization, and they just issued an alert summarizing the dangers of this bill as follows:

• Responsible gun owners are being penalized for the actions of criminals!
• It makes it hard for people already struggling in our economy to train properly.
• The Bill is on par with a sin tax.
• Guns and ammo are ALREADY subject to an additional 11% tax on top of the CT sales tax.

Our State Representatives need to hear from us on this issue. It needs to be stopped in Committee. CLICK HERE to e-mail your Representative. You can draft a message using the points above and it will be delivered to your Rep’s e-mail box. 

Be simple and to the point – if we each send one, the bill will die in committee.

We must be ever-vigilant, for we are up against an organized and coordinated movement to dissolve our individual liberties one move at a time, and transform the country into a socialist state. You can do your part by sending that e-mail.
