Last week, Congressman Jim Himes appeared in Stamford for what was billed as an "unconventional conversation" with CT Mirror Host John Dankosky, a long-time journalist who spent 25 years at NPR affiliate Connecticut Public.
Though nothing about the friendly conversation seemed to be "unconventional" or otherwise out of the ordinary.
It was just another example of how the media acts as the communications arm for the Democrat Party, never challenging the narrative being spoon fed to them by master gaslighters like Himes.
The "unconventional conversation" took place just two days before Himes joined his comrades from Indivisible for the "Hands Off / No Kings Protest" in Norwalk on April 19th... which is probably why within the first few minutes of his comments, Himes wondered whether "Donald Trump wants to be a king."
"Here we are where we're wondering whether the president, in his heart, doesn't want to be a king and we're wondering whether tomorrow he's going to show the open defiance of the court that we haven't seen in this country since Andrew Jackson did that in 1834," Himes told the packed room at Ferguson Library. "Our politics have become ugly really ugly. I mean politics have always been tough, but you know more Americans than ever before -- some 40% -- think that violence is okay in certain circumstances.
Himes goes on to lament how much time people are spending thinking about politics.
He says that in a "healthy society," the average person only thinks about politics for about twenty minutes a week, but thanks to "MAGA populism", people are thinking about politics all day long.
Maybe MAGA would stop thinking about politics all day long if there were more repercussions for those involved in the covid plandemic, 2020 election fraud, the Biden crime spree, Epstein's sex trafficking empire, etc.?
Himes goes on to paint Trump a terrible person acting in the exact opposite of the traditional Republican party, arguing that "cruelty is the point" of the Trump / MAGA movement. He proceeds to gaslight the audience over a host of issues, bash Trump's cabinet members, and argue that Congress is now a "fully owned subsidiary of Trump Inc."
Dankosky asked Himes what he thought Congress's role should be "as this circus plays out."
Himes immediately talked about "resisting" and said if the President ordered the CIA "to operate against an American inside the US" -- an idea which he said was "not crazy far-fetched" -- then he would be forced to take serious action. This was just another tactic to scare the audience.
At various points during the "unconventional conversation" Himes called Trump a "bully" and a "coward" and worried that this country might become so "indecent" under Trump that he might have to leave.
Eventually the topic of Himes' alma mater, Harvard, and the public funding cuts came up.
Himes shook his head and said he was "super proud" that Harvard was fighting back and thought it was "a powerful thing" to tell Trump "to go pound sand." He said that's what resistance looks like.
Then Dankosky asked Himes why so many other universities simply obeyed Trump's orders.
Himes said the more interesting question is why are our "wealthiest most elite institutions" so prone to "accommodating" Trump's orders?
"I don't ever want to draw an analogy to the Third Reich or to what happened in the 1930s in Europe. That's not where we are," said Himes. "But that's another example of an aristocracy, of an educated elite, of a church caving, the most powerful institutions caving to obvious evil."
"I'm not a moral philosopher but it's just so easy to accommodate, and you never accommodate by saying, 'Yes today is the day I sign up for the MAGA demands.' You just accommodate by saying 'Oh man I've got a headache, and you know if I take this action...' it's one little step at a time and the next thing you know you're complicit in something truly awful," said Himes.
What exactly does Himes think will happen as a result of the constant comparisons between the Trump Administration and the "obvious evil" of the Third Reich?
This event is a perfect example of how and why Connecticut is BLUE-CAPTURED. A fraudulent man holds a congressional seat, voting only to satisfy his advantage-seeking donors, and increase the power of the Democrat party over our lives. This event was stage-managed by a Democrat propaganda arm posing as a news organization. What the attendees witnessed was scripted theater designed to hold together the party base, and soothe anxieties during the party's period of extreme unpopularity.
