The folks at Indivisible Greenwich sent out a really special email last night, days after the riots first erupted in Los Angeles.
The Indivisibles want you to ignore the anarchists hurling rocks and flaming bottles, trapping police under an overpass. Ignore the burning cars, the looting, the destruction of property, the aggression and injuries to law enforcement officers. And forget about the paid agitators, the financial backers, the free legal assistance (even from Mexico) for those arrested, and the boxes of materials delivered straight into the hands of rioters.
Instead, much like the fake news media, Indivisible Greenwich wants followers to believe that the riots in Los Angeles are "non-violent" and had been started by bunch of "peaceful protesters" who were "met with violent repression" just for "speaking out against" an ICE raid in Los Angeles.
They also want followers to believe that Trump is "falsely framing" the "demonstrations" as "riots" just so he can "punish dissent" because apparently the folks running Indivisible Greenwich think people are stupid enough to believe that propaganda over what they can see with their own eyes.
As if that's not absurd enough, the Indivisibles want followers to think that using the National Guard and Marines to protect the people and property of Los Angeles is nothing more than an "authoritarian crackdown" meant to "trample" on constitutional rights and "terrorize" sanctuary communities that refuse to cooperate with ICE.
Now Indivisible Greenwich is asking members to contact Governor Lamont and AG Tong to demand that they "immediately pursue legal action" to ensure that Trump cannot deploy the National Guard in Connecticut should violent riots crop up here, too.
Not that they need to beg, because AG Tong already said he supports California's lawsuit against the Trump Administration for bringing in the National Guard.
It's worth mentioning that a lot of democrats support Indivisible Greenwich, and joined the recent protest led by members Joanna Swomley and Svetlana Wasserman, including US Congressman Jim Himes, AG William Tong, Greenwich State Reps. Steve Meskers and Hector Arzeno, Greenwich Board of Estimate and Finance members Matt DesChamps and David Weisbrod, and Greenwich Board of Education member Sophie Koven.
We won't hold our breath waiting for any of them to make a statement like democrat U.S. Senator John Fetterman did.
Because it's clear, at least to us, from last night's email that Indivisible Greenwich is also struggling with finding morals.
