The Newtown Labor Day Parade this morning drew thousands from around the state, and the tri-state area.
The event is Americana at its finest...something you wont find in the tonier parts of Fairfield County. Here the flag still flies for freedom and you can't take that away, as the song goes.
Senator Richard Blumenthal, and Governor Ned Lamont were there as well, walking the road through the middle of the historic village.
However, the most fun was had by the kids, scurrying for candy thrown from the floats, and cheering the Shriner minicar formations.
Great fun was had by all under the very hot sun.
