After the Civil War, the Ku Klux Klan terrorized Black Americans, Jews, and Catholics by hiding behind white hoods. Their power came from anonymity, uniformity, and mob intimidation.
Today, similar tactics have resurfaced on American campuses and in our streets with a new message and mission. It is interesting to note that they have been so focused on “Free Palestine” but have no interest in Freeing Iran. The KKK operated more under the cloak of night; these modern cloaked crusaders operate in plain sight and during the day.
We call it the rise of the Triple M: Masked Mob Marauders - the modern islamic jihadists.
Triple M tactics are simple:
Across college campuses, and in our streets throughout the nation and the world, these masked protesters dressed in coordinated black clothing and keffiyehs conceal their identities while harassing and, in some cases, physically intimidating Jewish students and supporters of Israel. They also attack those who are just pro-America and destroy our flag that they claim is a symbol of hatred and oppression.
This is not debate. It is coercion. It is not a peaceful protest to achieve a meaningful dialogue or advance positive policy. It is mob pressure designed to silence and advance an evil agenda and some of its participants are paid “protestors.”
Masking up to block entrances, surround classmates, or chant threats is not civil rights activism. It is intimidation.
They also preventing those from entering synagogues to worship; this is a clear violation of the religious freedom guaranteed in our constitution.
Extremist Islamist movements abroad have openly opposed women’s rights, LGBTQ equality, and religious pluralism. Yet some activists in those very communities now align themselves with campus and street movements that echo rhetoric used by groups that suppress those freedoms overseas. The contradiction is glaring, yet they do not see how fueling this hatred adversely affects them.
History shows hate movements eventually overreach and alienate the mainstream. But before they collapse, they cause real harm and devastating destruction.
In Texas v. The Muslim Brotherhood et al., the Texas Attorney General alleged that the Muslim Brotherhood operates in the United States through affiliated entities, including the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), and cited findings that the Brotherhood “accepts the political utility of violence.” The petition also referenced campus-related activities that, according to the filing, supported students arrested during disruptive protests.
In December 2025, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis issued an executive order designating CAIR as a foreign terrorist organization at the state level and directed state agencies to sever funding and official ties. CAIR has challenged the order in federal court, and the legal dispute is ongoing. But the message from Florida was unmistakable: some state governments are no longer willing to ignore concerns about extremist networks influencing campus unrest and will use any leverage they have to restore law & order.
From a legal perspective, these cases will really need a federal designation of CAIR as as FTO, but the legal actions and Executive Order at least make a statement that some states will no longer be silent or tolerate this extreme influence.
Connecticut Congressman Jim Himes has publicly appeared with CAIR leadership in the state.

At a time when Jewish students report intimidation and anti-semitic harassment, elected officials must exercise clear moral judgment about the organizations they choose to legitimize. Despite his association with CAIR Congressman Himes receives funding from AIPAC.

It is time for all of us to recognize that masked hate mongers on college campuses and on our streets are subversive hate groups dedicated to the destruction of our Constitutional Republic where freedom of religion is one our foundational values.
Congressman like Himes who support terrorist groups like CAIR should not be re-elected.
He's far from the only politician in Connecticut to embrace CAIR.
In fact, the group just held its inaugural Muslim Advocacy Day at the State Capitol in Hartford.

Masked Mob Marauders — the Triple M — do not strengthen democracy. They undermine it.
Freedom of religion is a foundational American value. No student should fear walking across campus because of their faith. No American should fear walking on a street wearing a yarmulke.
They should also wake up to the clear fact that if not stopped these mobs can and have evolved into killers as evidenced by the killing of Christians and other minorities, including the Druze of Syria.
It is critical to note that protests which are not “peaceful” will eventually escalate to much more violence, destruction and even death if unchecked and condoned by mainstream media and our elected officials.
We can confront masked mob intimidation now — through enforcement of the law, institutional courage, and leadership that refuses to excuse antisemitism and other religious hatred in any form.
America confronted hooded hate before. This time it is a different enemy with similar targets as the KKK.
Voters should demand that clarity from those who represent them.
