Governor Ned Lamont wasted no time announcing he signed HB 5044 — “An Act Establishing Connecticut Vaccine Standards” — into law, effectively handing unelected bureaucrats even more power over your body and your children’s bodies.

In his victory lap, Lamont shamelessly invoked the current measles outbreak to fearmonger about Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr., claiming Connecticut’s “zero cases” somehow proves the wisdom of the Democrat Supermajority overriding the CDC on vaccination recommendations.

Forget about the fact that Secretary Kennedy pointed to a global outbreak or that the MMR vaccine still remains on the childhood schedule.

Facts don't matter when you've got a narrative to push!

Lamont said, “When thousands of cases of measles threatened communities across America this year, Connecticut had zero cases. That doesn’t happen by accident... This legislation ensures that no matter what happens in Washington, Connecticut’s immunization standards stay grounded in science...”

He wants to "empower doctors to make decisions based on evidence" and "give families the reliable information they deserve" — it's the same kinda messaging they used during covid.

And it sure is hard to trust any doctor who aggressively recommended and profited from covid shots while completely ignoring the shocking safety signals in VAERS: now over 1.7 million reports of adverse effects, including myocarditis, heart attacks, miscarriages, permanent disability, and death.

Of course Lamont thanked those who voted to chip away at medical freedom because "Connecticut residents" — not citizens, mind you, but "residents" — deserve to have "public health policies based on science, not skepticism and politics.”

Guess we shouldn't mention anything about how the democrats used unscientific public health policies during covid to make people skeptical about voting in person?

This bill separates Connecticut’s vaccine standards from the federal Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) and gives the state’s Public Health Commissioner sweeping new authority to set “standards of care” however she pleases — for children and adults.

The bill also creates a “voluntary adult flu vaccine pilot program” to help uninsured or underinsured patients get free flu shots. But we all know how “voluntary” works with the Supermajority — how long before it becomes mandatory?

Democrats and their allies are already virtue-signaling about “protecting families” and making vaccines “more affordable,” but they never talk about protecting the fundamental right of parents to make medical decisions for their own children.

The truth is, this law is not about affordability or accessibility — it’s about control.

This is the same crowd that stripped religious exemptions in 2021, pushed COVID mandates on state employees, enforced deadly policies in nursing homes, told families to stay away from unvaccinated relatives, encouraged neighbors to snitch on each other, and pressured children into getting vaccinated just to play sports or attend school.

Now they’re laying the groundwork for future mandates.

State Senator Rob Sampson perfectly summed it up in his statement on the bill:

“This is not a minor or technical change. It is a shift in power... This law places significant authority in the hands of an unelected official... Free people should not have to ask permission from the government to make decisions about their own bodies or their children. That is not extreme. That is the foundation of a free society.”

We couldn’t agree more.
