Sen. Richard "Danang Dick" Blumenthal held a short presser today on why he thinks the SAVE America Act is so dangerous to democracy.

"If you listen to Republicans, they will say it is necessary to prevent non-citizens from voting," said Dick. "The likelihood of a non-citizen voting is even smaller than you're being struck by lightning tomorrow."

Of course non-citizen voting has happened plenty of times, like in Arkansas, Florida, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Texas and Pennsylvania, which also admitted that a glitch in its “motor voter” program allowed approximately 100,000 non-citizens to register to vote.

Remember that Connecticut issues drivers licenses to illegals.

"And the reason for this measure very frankly is Republicans want to suppress the vote, purge voter rolls, and stop people from voting in November because it's the only way they can win," claimed Dick.

What an odd thing to say when Trump is standing at a 100% approval rating!

Dick complained that Trump's "minions and sycophants are on the floor of the Senate right now, seeking to ram through to SAVE America Act."

He said he supports voter ID.

"This bill is not about requiring people to identify themselves by using a driver's license when they go to the polls, as we do in Connecticut," said Dick.

Except that's not true, and it's not the first time Dick has lied... the Centinal doesn't call him "Danang Dick" for nothing!

The Connecticut Secretary of State's website clearly indicates that a driver's license is not required to vote in Connecticut.

You can even vote in Connecticut with a grocery store bonus club card, a theater membership or a scrap of paper with a name on it.

Dick argued that "thousands of people in Connecticut" would be incapable of showing their passport or birth certificate, that "69 million women in Connecticut" who have birth certificates in their maiden names, "millions of people" who "cannot afford a passport" and also service members would all be disenfranchised if they had to face the hurdles presented in the SAVE Act to vote.

To be clear, already registered voters who don’t need to update anything (no move, no address change, no name update on your registration) will not be impacted. You would not be required to provide new proof of citizenship. The White House and bill supporters have repeatedly stated that “married women who have changed their name, if they’re already registered to vote, [are] entirely unaffected.”

The bill explicitly requires every state to create a process for resolving “discrepancies” in documents, like in the case of married women who take their husband's name. You would be allowed to submit “additional documentation,” which has been widely interpreted to include a marriage certificate or court name-change order plus your birth certificate, to link the two names and prove you are the same person.

The impact is expected to be minimal or zero for the vast majority of women. States already manage name changes every day, and the bill mandates a fair process for discrepancies.

Nonetheless, Dick claims the new hurdles "will have a clear and immediate effect on Connecticut" resulting in the "purging of voter rolls" if Washington has an opportunity to review the state's records.

"Let me repeat. Purging Connecticut's voter rolls will be an immediate result of passing the SAVE America Act," said Dick. "Maybe tens of thousands of voters in Connecticut will go to the polls this November and find their names have been removed from the voting list."

Dick said in Connecticut, we "pride ourselves on the integrity of our voting system" which surely will draw sneers from anyone who can remember all the way back to 2023 when Wanda Geter-Pataky was busy stuffing ballot boxes on camera.

Let's not forget the allegations made by Bridgeport City Council member Alfredo Castillo who was arrested last year for a "variety of election charges" after "following the orders of the Democratic Party."

Castillo accused Dick, as well as Gov. Ned Lamont, Sen. Chris Murphy, and Congressman Jim Himes of directly benefitting from illegal election actions that resulted in increased voter turnout in Bridgeport.

Gosh, Dick must be so proud!

That's only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the integrity of Connecticut's elections, which are also fraught with absentee ballot fraud.

Meanwhile, Dick has become a laughing stock after RNC Research called him out earlier this week for saying that "passing a bill that ensures only American citizens are voting" would destroy the Democrat's version of democracy.

The Founder & President of Integrity First Alliance, Shiloh Marx, pointed out the very next day that Dick won Connecticut by a 187,921 votes in 2022.

And that the 304,587 new voter registration applications processed between 2020 and 2022 did not require proof of citizenship.

Marx is not the only one questioning the validity of Connecticut's elections.

Unite 4 Freedom recently put out its 2024 Election Validity Scorecard for Connecticut, and alleges there are 366,259 election errors made in 2024.

Things that make you go hmm...

Tens of thousands of illegal and fraudulent voters will be removed for California voter rolls and that's a good thing for us all but bad for Democrats.

What's good for the country is always bad for the Dems. And vice versa.

Connecticut can remove illegal voters NOW if they wanted to, without a special law telling them they HAVE to. Why not do the right thing and purge illegal voters, instead of getting forced to, Dicky?
