Matthew Knickerbocker is at it again.

He just can’t stop comparing President Donald Trump to Hitler — and doesn’t seem to care that this exact kind of inflammatory rhetoric has now led to multiple assassination attempts against Trump.

The kicker? Knickerbocker, who has served as Bethel Town Treasurer (2025-present), Bethel Democrat Town Committee Chair ("many years"), Wilton Town Administrator (2022 to 2025) and First Selectman of Bethel (2009 to 2022), is now running for State Senate in District 32 against incumbent Eric Berthel (R).

One of Knickerbocker’s campaign priorities is literally “standing up to MAGA-driven extremism” — something he claims “divides our communities.”

Yet he doesn’t seem to think that constantly likening the President to Hitler is divisive at all.

That’s because he believes Trump has created “a moral slum in the White House and the West Wing.”

Knickerbocker appears caught up in the propaganda being fed to him by fellow Democrats, including Graham Platner, and mainstream media talking heads.

He's spreading the notion that we might not have "free and fair elections" in November because Republicans are allegedly "gerrymandering enough voter suppression" to stop or rig the elections -- never mind that it stems from a Supreme Court ruling. Platner apparently helped to convince Knickerbocker that the Court has become the “political action wing of corporate conservatism.”

And why does Knickerbocker assume “illegals” are “brown people”? Isn’t that a bit racist? Wouldn’t illegal aliens of any skin color be afraid to vote illegally?

In a Facebook group, Knickerbocker referred to the Trump administration as a “lawless” “regime” that has “corrupted” the U.S. Justice Department and enables “extrajudicial killings.”

He described Sen. Berthel’s vote against SB 397 as “just another capitulation to a lawless administration as it tramples our Constitution and our democracy.”

Recall that SB 397 forces ICE agents to unmask and display visible ID, allows state prosecutors to pursue them for “abusing authority,” creates a private right of action to sue federal agents in state court, carves out “safe zones” (schools, hospitals, churches, and courthouses) where ICE cannot make civil arrests without a judicial warrant, and restricts the use of automated license plate reader data.

ICE has already ignored the new law — which is widely expected to be struck down for violating the Supremacy Clause — and has continued conducting enforcement actions with agents fully masked.

But perhaps the thing voters in the 32nd District should be most concerned about is Knickerbocker’s admiration for Zohran Mamdani...

Especially after Mamdani’s comments about seizing private property.

Now, good CT Centinal reader, how might this gentleman’s perspective be… persuaded?
How might you turn his mind? What might be your first approach?

Would it be to dismiss him? Excoriate him? Humiliate him? Rebut his invectives with relevant ‘factual’ counterpoints?
How do you convince such a man to value liberty ahead of security? Value personal responsibility ahead of all that the Matrix has to offer? That his truth is not so much?

    Are such men irredeemable, unreachable?
