When Stacey Abrams shows up in your state to lecture you about election integrity, you should ask yourself one question — why her?
Abrams has spent years positioning herself as the national standard-bearer for “voting rights” — a cause she adopted after refusing to concede her 2018 Georgia governor’s race. But The Georgia Record (a CDM outlet) has documented her fingerprints on one of the most troubled election cycles in modern American history: the 2020 Georgia election, where a temp staffing firm called Happy Faces Personnel — tied directly to Abrams — was credibly accused of criminal behavior at polling locations in Fulton County.
Eyewitness accounts published by The Georgia Record described probable criminal behavior by Happy Faces temp employees during the 2020 Georgia election cycle. The firm had been financed with Abrams-linked money and was later the subject of fierce local opposition when Fulton County Commissioners voted to renew its contract. North Fulton County jurisdictions were so alarmed they sought to break away and run their own elections rather than tolerate Happy Faces for another cycle.
None of that history followed Abrams to Hartford last weekend.
On Saturday, September 19, Connecticut Democrats held their 76th Annual John Bailey Dinner at the Connecticut Convention Center. Every major Connecticut Democrat was in the room: Governor Ned Lamont, Attorney General Tong, Senators Blumenthal and Murphy, Congresswomen Hayes and DeLauro. Danbury Mayor Alves — the same mayor whose city just passed a measure allowing DACA recipients to serve as police officers — was photographed alongside Abrams on stage.
Abrams was the keynote speaker. A video from the event captures Gov. Lamont standing beside Abrams, declaring he is fighting for “free and fair elections” — with the woman who helped engineer the 2020 Georgia chaos at his side.
Let that sink in.
Abrams is currently on a national tour warning audiences that Donald Trump will undermine election results. The subtext is unmistakable: don’t trust the outcome if Trump’s people win. She is pre-seeding distrust of elections — the same playbook she ran in Georgia in 2018, the same environment that preceded the chaotic 2020 Georgia cycle her allies helped engineer.
Connecticut Democrats invited her in. Connecticut’s entire congressional and gubernatorial delegation stood beside her and cheered.
This is not a coincidence. This is a tell.
People who run clean elections do not need Stacey Abrams to validate them. They do not fly in a woman with her specific history and her specific mission and put her on a stage to talk about election integrity. You bring in Stacey Abrams when you want to inoculate your voters against questioning results — results you intend to control.
Connecticut voters deserve to know who is in that room, who is on that stage, and what is being rehearsed for November.
