Assistant Attorney General (AAG) for Civil Rights Harmeet Dhillon is celebrating the Department of Justice’s (DOJ) campaign to ensure election integrity during the approach of the nation’s midterms.
“This is going to be the biggest DOJ election observer effort in history,” Dhillon said Monday on Just the News’ “No Noise” news show on Real America’s Voice.
The AAG explained that she plans to send 1,000 federal election monitors to select locations throughout the country in November.
“I’m really excited to say that … we’re pretty close to that number of people who’ve raised their hands – lawyers in the Department of Justice, and other staff, trained legal staff – who are ready to go into the field and do this work on election day,” she added.
Federal election monitors from the DOJ, Dhillon continued, are “similar to other types of observers you see, so they’re not going to be interfering in any way, or running the election.”
“They’re going to be observing, making notes, you know, making sure that language accessibility is there, that disability accessibility is there, that nothing funky is happening, and that people are able to vote,” she said. “And if there are problems, we do take care of it afterwards. We’re coordinating with states, with counties in advance.”
The AAG explained that, during the last several weeks, the DOJ has “indicted and/or convicted 67 different individuals for election-related crimes.”
Confronting the common response from left-wing politicians and their allies in the media that illegal voting is not happening, Dhillon continued that, in addition to what her own office has accomplished, the Department of Homeland Security “has made 160-plus arrests, and FBI is, you know, similarly working hard and knocking on doors and doing all of this.”
“The U.S. attorney’s offices around the country are united in pushing forward on this initiative, and you know whether they voted for a Republican or a Democrat, we don’t care,” she explained. “What we care about is that non-citizens who voted in a federal election canceled out the votes of American citizens. It does happen … a lot more than anybody says.”
Dhillon noted that, under the Biden DOJ, only a total of 13 people were prosecuted for election-related crimes.
“We’ve done more than that in the last week here at DOJ,” she observed, explaining how she operates whenever she encounters an example of voter fraud or illegal voting.
“I pick up the phone, I call a U.S. attorney, I, you know, flag it for people internally,” she described the procedure. “Just a constant stream of ideas being pushed down to the states to look at – and we track that very aggressively. And, you know, for the 67 that we’ve done so far, you’re going to see, I think, many more between now and the election … we’re on a roll now and got a great rhythm going.”
Dhillon praised the state of Nevada which, she noted, recently removed non-citizens from its voter rolls.
“I’m glad Nevada has done what it’s done,” she said. “But think about the difference there: getting rid of two and a half percent of the votes. Now imagine if a fraction of those actually voted, and remember how close elections are statewide and nationally. A couple of votes could make a difference, and that’s, that’s a huge number.”
Dhillon added that the Department of Justice under Democratic presidents “has actually gone after states for cleaning up their voter rolls – claiming that it’s somehow disenfranchising people.”
“So, they now know they have a free rein to do it,” she said, underscoring that the Trump DOJ encourages states to voluntarily clean up their voter rolls.
The office for Civil Rights “is focused on ensuring election integrity across the nation for every American,” she emphasized.
Election integrity activist Scott Presler also reports regularly on his efforts to undermine illegal voting.
On Sunday, Presler posted about his work in Pennsylvania.
“We uncovered 371,595 non-citizens & persons who are ‘unable to read, write, and understand the English language’ in Philadelphia,” he wrote. “After cross-referencing the PA voter rolls, 50,000 voters have been flagged as potential alien matches.”
