A social media post gaining traction this morning claims: “West Haven from what I understand someone found 2 totes of uncounted ballots. I’m guessing they were for Fazio.”

The Connecticut Centinal contacted the West Haven Registrars of Voters office this morning for comment.

The Registrar stated that there is “no truth” to the accusation and explained that it simply could not happen based on the process they follow. All ballots are stored in sealed bags after being run through the scanner. The vote tallies come from the USB sticks in the voting machines. She said the USB sticks are not, and cannot be, connected to the internet.

She expressed that it is “very frustrating” that internet rumors take off like this from someone who does not even appear to live in Connecticut, especially when there are legitimate election integrity issues.
