The U.S. Supreme Court made the radical decision to protect children on Tuesday, ruling 6–3 that states like Tennessee have the right to ban irreversible medical procedures for minors who identify as transgender. In a sane world, this would be celebrated as a victory for common sense and actual science.
But in Connecticut, Attorney General William Tong came unglued.
“Today’s decision by the Supreme Court will harm kids, plain and simple,” he declared in a June 18 press release — in a tone usually reserved for losing Wi‑Fi during the last couple minutes of the Superbowl.
“Gender-affirming care is lifesaving,” Tong insisted, before demanding that only “an individual and their doctor” should make these decisions without interference from “unqualified judges and politicians.”
That’s rich coming from a career politician with no medical training who just inserted himself into a national medical debate. If unqualified politicians should stay out of it, maybe Tong should recuse himself from his own press release.
Of course, there’s no mention of parents — the ones being bullied by school counselors and “gender clinics” into going along with radical interventions or risk being labeled transphobic. No mention of the irreversible damage — the hormone-induced infertility, the mastectomies, the puberty blockers with lifelong consequences. And certainly no mention of the growing army of detransitioners — young adults who were fast-tracked through the system and now live with regret and scars they can’t undo.
Tong’s outrage was in response to United States v. Skrmetti, where the Court upheld Tennessee’s law banning puberty blockers, hormones, and surgeries for children under 18 when used for “gender transition.”
Chief Justice John Roberts correctly pointed out that this isn’t about discrimination. It’s about banning dangerous, medically unproven treatments for a controversial diagnosis.
The decision pointed out what anyone with a functioning frontal lobe already knows: the data behind these procedures is flimsy at best, the risks are enormous, and even lefty European governments — Sweden, Finland, the U.K. — are hitting the brakes on transitioning minors. Apparently, the Supreme Court is more evidence-based than the Attorney General of Connecticut.
But Tong doesn’t let facts get in the way of a good meltdown. He warned the ruling would create “two Americas” — one with “lifesaving care” and one ruled by “discrimination and misinformation.”
So that would be one America where 12-year-olds are put on hormone blockers and offered top surgery before they can drive, and another where adults actually say, “Hey, maybe let’s not do this.”
In Tong’s world, if you question any of this, you’re a bigot. If you think it’s a bad idea to amputate healthy body parts in response to adolescent identity crises, you’re “spreading misinformation.”
What Tong is defending isn’t therapy. It isn’t mental health care. It’s chemical castration. It’s irreversible surgery. It’s sterilizing kids in the name of woke dogma. That’s what “gender-affirming care” really means — and he knows it.
Justice Roberts said it best: the Court’s job isn’t to debate the “wisdom” of Tennessee’s law, just whether it’s constitutional. It is. And with that, the Supreme Court did what too many doctors and politicians are too cowardly to do — they protected children from a medical fad that treats puberty like a disease and biology like a hate crime.
William Tong’s job is to protect Connecticut residents — including its children. But based on his response, it’s clear he’s more interested in protecting the feelings of Twitter activists than the bodies of actual kids. He’s willing to throw science, parents, and common sense under the bus to stay in good standing with gender orthodoxy.
The fact that one of the top Democrats in Connecticut is shedding crocodile tears because the Supreme Court won’t let doctors amputate healthy body parts from teenagers tells you everything you need to know about his party.
Tong isn’t just wrong. He’s the golden retriever of pronoun politics — eager to please, oblivious to consequences, and loyally serving a movement that would rather mutilate kids than admit boys and girls exist.
Screw you tong... Go somewhere people want you... CCP China?
