Stephen Colbert announced on Instagram that he would be canceling episodes of the show this week after requiring surgery for a ruptured appendix. The announcement comes shortly after Colbert contracted covid yet again in October, despite being vaccinated and boosted.
It's hard to forget how Colbert shamelessly shilled covid vaccines for years. He required guests to be fully vaccinated for covid when the show resumed taping in person in May 2021. And he even cheered on vaccine mandates and forced testing for federal workers. “You hear that, anti-vaxxers? Osha is comin’ for you!” Colbert said.
Last year, he took Dr. Fauci to Walgreens to get a covid booster during an episode of The Late Show (October 6, 2022).
But now there is growing evidence that suggests appendicitis is a covid vaccine injury.
In fact, the CDC's Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS), which is widely known for underreporting vaccine injuries, reveals at least 1,939 people developed appendicitis and required surgery after getting covid shots.
Both clinical trials and observational studies have suggested a possible association between appendicitis and COVID-19 vaccines, according to the NIH National Library of Medicine.
The earliest report in the database, from August 25, 2021, observed "a mild imbalance" between vaccinated and unvaccinated groups in Pfizer's covid vaccine trials. The "imbalance" found that those who received Pfizer's covid vaccine had a risk ratio of 1.4 for appendicitis, suggesting 5 cases per 100,000 persons.
A report from December 9, 2021, looked at 334 unique cases of appendicitis reported as potential vaccine injuries in the World Health Organization's database of vaccine safety reports. The cases showed an apparent increase in reporting of appendicitis in the four days post-vaccination, indicating a possible relationship. The report stated, "appendicitis has been suggested as an adverse event of special interest post-vaccination against COVID-19 after a numerical increase in the vaccine arm of a clinical trial."
A June 2022 report details a case of a previously healthy 69-year-old female who developed appendicitis after receiving the third dose of the Pfizer covid vaccine. No other appendicitis triggers were identified. The author speculates that an association exists between the vaccine and the woman's appendicitis.
One 58-year-old woman developed acute appendicitis within 48 hours of receiving her first shot.
Whether a vaccine zealot like Colbert will ever acknowledge the very real possibility that his appendicitis could be the result of a covid vaccine injury remains to be seen. But it would definitely be a tough pill to swallow, especially in light of his endless, bizarre covid antics.
