Last Thursday, yet again, Jim Himes cast a vote which demonstrates he is not representing the best interests of the women of CT-4. While Himes has consistently been in the thick of the crowing Democrat chorus decrying the delusionary ‘war on women,’ he proudly pressed his red button in the House chamber and voted to throw biological women under the proverbial bus.
H.R. 734, the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act would amend federal law to make it illegal “for a recipient of Federal financial assistance who operates, sponsors, or facilitates athletic programs or activities to permit a person whose sex is male to participate in an athletic program or activity that is designated for women or girls.” The Bill also serves to clarify that “sex shall be recognized based solely on a person’s reproductive biology and genetics at birth.” The Bill passed 219 to 203, with all Democrats present, including Himes, voting against it.
Bill co-sponsor, Virginia Foxx said “We’re committed to protecting women from discrimination, and women’s sports from exploitation.” That was the whole point of the original passing of Title IX – which established a separate sports category for biological women, because men had a natural biological advantage in sports competition. House GOP Conference Chair Elise Stefanik said that her Republican colleagues “took a stand for fairness and to protect the future of women’s sports from being diminished by the radical gender fluidity agenda” because “our daughters should not be forced to compete against biological men in competitive sports.”
But again, Jim Himes supports the agenda of the most radical activists in the Democrat party – at the expense of the several hundred thousand of his constituents who can actually define... and cherish, being a woman. We really don’t know what Mr. Himes believes, but his actions and votes on a rapidly expanding list of issues illustrate that he stands for nothing... least of all, his constituents!
He is either intimidated by, or aligned with, the radical activists in his base - or both! And if he’s not, let’s have him come out, step to the microphones and publicly defend his justification for real women having to compete with biological males, while enduring the invasions of privacy currently upending their locker-rooms.
You can voice your opposition to this madness by contacting his Stamford 203-353-9400 or Bridgeport 203-333-6600 office. Respectfully and succinctly advise his staff that you disapprove of this vote, that a biological woman is a real woman, and that you resent being thrown under the bus by Jim Himes.
