U.S. Rep. Jahana Hayes (CT) took $5,000 from the Courage to Change PAC and $10,000 from the Medicare for All PAC during the 2022 election cycle.
The Courage to Change PAC, which is officially affiliated with Squad member Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (NY), supports progressive challengers who "refuse to bow to establishment pressure, who advocate ferociously for working-class families, and who have lived the same struggles as the people they seek to represent." All of those endorsed by the PAC are expected to advocate for racial, social, economic, and environmental justice.
The Medicare for All PAC is chaired by Rep. Pramila Jayapal (WA) who serves as the Chair of the Congressional Progressive Caucus—a broader coalition of progressive members to which all Squad members belong. Jayapal voted “present” on a bipartisan resolution declaring support for Israel.
Hayes also received a 2022 donation from the Power of Us PAC which is connected to another Squad member, Rep. Ayana Pressley (MA). She voted present on the pro-Israel resolution.
Hayes barely won her last election against Republican challenger George Logan (50.39% to 49.61%).
Logan recently announced he's ready for a rematch against Hayes in 2024.
