Wanda Geter-Pataky, who was recently seen sporting a bright red hat with the word "QUEEN" emblazoned on it at Mayor Ganim's victory party, is now celebrating re-election herself, as she was overwhelmingly re-elected to be first vice chair of the city's Democratic Town Committee (DTC).
Geter-Pataky has become widely known as "Wanda the Ballot Stuffer" after she was caught on video allegedly depositing multiple illegal absentee ballots into a ballot box located right outside town hall. The video along with other evidence led Judge Clark to call a "do over" of the democratic primary in Bridgeport, and then a "do over" of the mayoral election. Judge Clark had concluded, "Geter-Pataky, directly or through another, made 10 separate drops" of ballots in an obvious violation of (state law)."
It wasn't the first time Geter-Pataky was accused of stuffing the ballot box, either, having been accused of a very similar deed in the 2019 election, which Ganim also won, thanks to absentee ballots. Allegedly, over 1,000 absentee ballots had been cast but only 32 voters had actually requested an absentee ballot.
Geter-Pataky also faces a third investigation by a private labor attorney to determine if she violated any municipal personnel rules in her handling of absentee ballots while on the job.
Longtime DTC chair Mario Testa, who also won yet another term as Chair of the DTC, alleged, "the public convicted the lady without due process."
Councilman Ernie Newton, also a DTC member, said that Wanda is a good chairperson.
"Some people might get upset, but we're a forgiving city. The mayor's been to prison. I've been to prison. I don't know what the state's going to do (with her cases) but I think if Wanda wants to stay on there, she should stay. ... I guarantee you, nobody's perfect," said Newton.
That certainly seems to be the case in Bridgeport.
Democrats of today make make Tammany Hall seem like Romper Room. The RANK and open corruption of Democrats, nationwide, make Boss Tweed seem like Mr. Rogers.
