You just can't make this stuff up.

Connecticut State Rep. Anne Hughes, a democrat representing Easton, Weston, and Redding, was just caught in a hot mic moment saying, "... we're not rich, but I always say to the Governor -- tax my people, they won't event notice."

Of course she said that on April 15th, Tax Day.

But who is Rep. Hughes and what else does she stand for, besides taxing her people more?

Hughes is currently serving her fourth term in the Connecticut General Assembly where she has been pushing a far left agenda.

How far left is she, you might wonder?

Well, Hughes is the kinda gal who hosts a pool party for the Connecticut Working Families Party ("CT WFP") and their friends at her "magical" 12-acre estate.

Mind you, the CT WFP asked candidates some rather wild questions in 2024 to obtain an endorsement, including whether they approved of "non-citizen voting in their local elections" and if they supported expanding Husky insurance to ALL illegals.

CT WFP endorsed candidates are expected to "carry a fierce determination" for making "transformative change" once elected.

Not only did Hughes handily earn the WFP endorsement, when the 2025 session began, she quickly sponsored legislation with a small group of democrats to expand Husky insurance to all income-eligible children and young adults up to age 26, regardless of immigration status in proposed bill 5430.

Her radical agenda in Hartford includes going after families and children, which probably should not be a surprise considering her Planned Parenthood endorsement.

Toward that end she sponsored SJ 35 – an amendment that would preempt all state restrictions on abortion, and enshrine discrimination against women based on gender into the Connecticut Constitution.

She sponsored – HB 7213 – which would remove all regulations restricting abortion including C.G.S 19a-116: informed consent and counseling requirements and their associated regulations sections 19a-116-1 et.al, the reporting requirements, conscience protections, “infant born alive” protections and third trimester restrictions on abortion in sections 19-13-D54 of the Connecticut Regulations.

She pushed the Library Porn Bill that prevent parents and members of the community from objecting to sexually descriptive and explicit books in school and public libraries, and creates a cause of action for librarians to sue parents if they feel harassed.

And she wants to make Connecticut a destination state for gender transitions and abortions for children via SB 7 which would create a $30 million slush fund and "Safe Harbor Fund” with state resources for payment to doctors who provide abortions, puberty blockers, cross sex hormones and cross-sex surgeries to treat gender dysphoria on minors and collateral expenses for minors, even under age 16, to come to Connecticut for these procedures.

But this is only a fraction of the nearly 100 bills Hughes backed this session.

She's also pushing for things like:

She's a reliable social justice warrior and even made an appearance at the Hands Off protest dressed like the Statue of Liberty.

She's also a reliable drinking buddy ...

And who can forget how she's always willing to lend a hand for a "prank"?

But now that her people know what she really thinks of them, will her days be numbered?

She was selected, not elected. When was the last “Real” election in CT? I think it may be forever lost to communism. Thank God we have the freedom move to different States.
