On Friday night, two men were arrested in Los Angeles where Kennedy was scheduled to speak. One man brandished a US Marshall badge and a pistol in full view of Kennedy's security. In his backpack were at least one gun, knifes and other ammunition. A second man was also arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department.
The Kennedy campaign has requested Secret Service protection twice which President Joe Biden has rejected. A third request will be made this month.
Mr. Gorton - beyond his support of Mr. Kennedy is his body of work about President John F. Kennedy's assassination in 1963.
