• Are Covid Vaccines Really Safe And Effective For Pregnant Women?

    August 14, 2022
Paramedics give Sinovac vaccine to pregnant women at the Jagakarsa II Health Center, South Jakarta, Thursday (19/08/2021). Since last week, a number of puskesmas in DKI Jakarta have opened COVID-19 vaccinations for pregnant women and so far there have been 1,754 pregnant women who have received the first dose of vaccination to prevent the spread of the corona virus.

Earlier this week, CT News Junkie published an article written by Duaa Eldeib about covid-related stillbirths in "pregnant people” — none of whom had been vaccinated.

The article claimed that covid vaccination is safe during pregnancy, and therefore urged "pregnant people” to get vaccinated to protect against the possibility of stillbirth…  despite the fact that cases of covid-related stillbirths haven’t been seen in months, and they were allegedly tied to the Delta variant.

Eldeib said that, "conspiracy theorists, anti-vaxxers and even some medical professionals spread false claims about the vaccine’s safety in pregnancy, leading many pregnant people to delay or refuse the vaccine.  Even now, with numerous studies unequivocally announcing the safety of the vaccine for pregnant people, some doctors have failed to communicate the dangers of COVID-19 to pregnant people or the vaccine’s role in mitigating it.”

Previously, Eldeib blamed people like Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., for spreading misinformation about covid vaccines, and lamented how “misinformation is proving resilient” especially with “pregnant people."

But the question of whether covid vaccines are safe in pregnancy is far from decided, despite what Eldeib claims.

In fact, the data coming from the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) tells a very different story.  Searches for certain keywords turned up the following results through July 29, 2022, including:

    4,900 cases that mentioned miscarriage

4,220 cases that mentioned spontaneous abortion

3,633 cases that mentioned vaginal haemorrhage

1,141 cases that mentioned birth defects

    184 cases that mentioned stillbirth

49 cases that mentioned “neonatal death” after the mother's vaccination

By the way, the post-marketing document that Pfizer wanted to bury for 75 years showed similar, troubling results for pregnant women.

Outcomes for the 270 pregnancies included in Pfizer’s trial were reported as spontaneous abortion (23), outcome pending (5), premature birth with neonatal death, spontaneous abortion with intrauterine death (2 each), spontaneous abortion with neonatal death, and normal outcome (1 each).  No outcome was provided for the other 238 pregnancies.

That means 10% of pregnancies resulted in spontaneous abortion and/or intrauterine death in Pfizer’s trial, and we don’t know what happened with the other 238 pregnancies.  And this is considered safe and effective?  Is that one potential reason why birth rates are plummeting around the globe?

It makes you wonder how can there be such a wide latitude in the definition of “safe and effective”, doesn’t it?

You can see this “definitional” issue clearly highlighted in the Post-Authorization Surveillance of Adverse Events Following COVID-19 Vaccines in Pregnant Persons study conducted from December 2020 to October 2021.  The study reported 8 maternal deaths and 12 neonatal deaths, along with six-hundred twenty-one reports of serious adverse effects.  Pregnancy-specific outcomes included:  878 spontaneous abortions (<20 weeks), 101 episodes of vaginal bleeding, 76 preterm deliveries (<37 weeks), 62 stillbirths (≥20 weeks), and 33 outcomes with birth defects.

Want to know what conclusion was reached?

The “review of reports to VAERS following COVID-19 vaccines in pregnant persons did not identify any concerning patterns of maternal or infant-fetal outcomes.”

So nothing to see here?  Are we meant to simply ignore the pattern of injury to pregnant women and babies starting first in Pfizer’s own trial data, then in the October 2021 study, and now in the July 2022 VAERS data?  Do you agree with the conclusion that covid vaccines are really "safe and effective" for pregnant women after seeing this data?
