In case you had any questions about who to vote for in the upcoming Republican primary on September 9, the Voting Moms have gotten involved to help. If you’ve forgotten, the voting Moms are Democrat operatives Jenna Lowe and Emily Goodman, a former Hillary Clinton intern. Goodman changed her registration from Democrat to Republican to try to vote in a previous Republican primary and then became unaffiliated so that the Moms can try to claim they are “non-partisan.”
In the 2023 municipal election, Fred Camillo’s handpicked RTC Chair, Dan Quigley, worked hand in hand with the Voting Moms, trying to help Democrats to win the town finance board (BET). This didn’t go over well with most Republicans who had previously ousted Mr. Quigley in a primary in 2022. The Voting Moms, also worked together with Marxist organizations like Indivisible Greenwich, and Greenwich Voices for Democracy and together they managed to push the Greenwich Representative Town Meeting (RTM, the town legislature) from 56% Republican in 2017 down to 44% Republican now. Mr. Camillo’s current RTC Chair pick, Michael Hahn, cheered this outcome.
The same Michael Hahn has recently been busy trying to get his fellow RTC members to “drag the [BET] women along” with his ideas. Ironically this misogyny is mainly due to the fact that the Republican women are opposed to spending as much as Camillo, would like. Hahn’s dislike of strong BET women was joined by Harry Fisher, who got elected as BET Chairman with unanimous Democrat support and against the will of the Republican majority. Harry Fisher sent an email calling the BET women for sensible spending “miscreants.”
Not to be outdone, in their latest missive, Ms. Lowe and Ms. Goodman suggest that Unaffiliated voters change registration in order to vote for the Moms’ favorite candidates, Joe Kelly and Josh Brown. This is hardly surprising, given that on the RTM, Kelly and Brown vote more often with Democrats than with fellow Republicans.
The bottom line is always money. And, as a result of efforts by Camillo and these other insiders, the Greenwich Town Budget has ballooned to over $600 million. In large part, this is due directly to excessive (over $13k per employee per year) increases for union employees, negotiated by none other than the Voting Moms’ favorites Joe Kelly and Josh Brown. In fact, if Kelly and Brown had voted against those union pay increases, Greenwich would not have had a budget shortfall this year at all.
Like all good Democrats these folks are mainly interested in raising your taxes so they can give your money to insiders at local construction firms and nonprofits and spend your money buying votes from union members and vocal special interest groups.
On September 9th Republicans have a choice: Blank check, tax and spend Insiders running as Republicans, or actual Republicans who uphold the Republican principles of carefully considered and prudent spending.
